Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 18

There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:

Doosan Bears vs. NC Dinos: Under 8.5 (+100)

The Doosan Bears and NC Dinos set up as an excellent pitching matchup, making the under 8.5 runs a strong KBO betting pick. Both Wes Benjamin and Riley Thompson enter in outstanding form and have already demonstrated that they can shut down these opposing lineups.

Benjamin has been one of Doosan’s most reliable starters this season, carrying a 2.57 ERA and 1.19 WHIP through 18 starts. He’s allowed one or fewer runs in five of his last seven outings and has surrendered more than three runs just once since June 7. Even more encouraging, Benjamin has dominated NC in 2026, posting a 0.00 ERA and 0.75 WHIP against the Dinos.

NC counters with Riley Thompson, who has been equally impressive. Thompson enters with a 2.98 ERA, 1.08 WHIP and a perfect 5-0 record. He’s allowed one or fewer runs in three consecutive starts and two or fewer in five of his last seven outings.

Thompson has also been virtually untouchable against Doosan this season, recording a 0.00 ERA in his meetings with the Bears. With both starters enjoying success against these specific opponents, offensive production should be difficult to come by.

The combination of elite recent form, strong head-to-head numbers and two pitchers capable of working deep into games creates an ideal setup for a low-scoring contest. At even-money odds, the under offers additional value for one of the best KBO Bets today.

KT Wiz vs. LG Twins: Wiz (-105)

The KT Wiz offer strong value on the moneyline in this heavyweight KBO matchup. With So Hyeong-jun in excellent form and LG starter Im Chan-kyu struggling, KT has the pitching edge and enough offensive firepower to secure the win.

So enters with an impressive 2.95 ERA and 6-1 record. He’s been particularly dominant recently, allowing one or no runs in five of his last six outings and two or fewer runs in 11 of his previous 13 starts. His success has also carried over against LG, where he owns a 3.00 ERA this season.

The Twins counter with Im Chan-kyu, who has struggled to maintain consistency. He enters with a 4.28 ERA and 1.43 WHIP and has surrendered 15 earned runs across his last four starts. His matchup history against KT is also concerning, with a 5.23 ERA against the Wiz in 2026.

KT’s offensive numbers further strengthen the case for the underdog. The Wiz lead the KBO with a .282 team batting average, giving them the ability to capitalize if Im continues to struggle.

With So pitching at an elite level, a favorable history against the Twins and KT’s league-leading offense backing him, the Wiz are the preferred side in what should be a competitive matchup.
