Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 21

There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:

Lotte Giants vs. Doosan Bears: Bears (+105)

The Doosan Bears offer strong value as underdogs against the Lotte Giants, making the +105 moneyline an appealing KBO bet. The pitching matchup gives Doosan a legitimate chance to pull off the outright victory.

Choi Seung-yong has been excellent against Lotte this season, posting a 1.50 ERA and 1.17 WHIP in his matchups with the Giants. That success gives him a strong foundation heading into this game and should allow Doosan to keep Lotte’s offense under control.

The Giants counter with Kim Jun-uk, who has recorded a 4.20 ERA in three starts against Doosan this season. His recent form is much more concerning, though, as he’s surrendered 16 earned runs across his last five outings. If those struggles continue, the Bears should have opportunities to put runs on the board.

At plus money, Doosan doesn’t need to dominate to offer value. Choi’s strong history against Lotte combined with Kim’s recent struggles creates a favorable setup for the Bears to stay competitive and potentially secure the outright win.

KIA Tigers vs. Kiwoom Heroes: Over 8.5 (-125)

The KIA Tigers and Kiwoom Heroes have the ingredients for a high-scoring matchup, making the over 8.5 runs an appealing total. Both starting pitchers have struggled recently, while neither pitching staff has been particularly reliable this season.

Ha Yeong-min enters with a 4.50 ERA and 1.48 WHIP and has been especially vulnerable against KIA. He owns a 10.80 ERA against the Tigers this season, which gives KIA a favorable opportunity to generate offense. Kiwoom’s pitching staff has also struggled overall, ranking second-last in the KBO with a 5.19 ERA.

KIA counters with Yang Hyeon-jong, who hasn’t been dominant either. Yang carries a 4.33 ERA and 1.47 WHIP in 2026 and has posted a 4.50 ERA against Kiwoom this season. His recent form is another concern, as he’s allowed 11 earned runs across his last three starts.

The Heroes should also have opportunities against Yang. Ha has surrendered 12 runs over his last three outings, so both starters enter this game allowing runs at an elevated rate. That creates the potential for scoring from both sides rather than relying on one offense to carry the total.

With Ha struggling badly against KIA, Yang allowing plenty of runs recently and both pitching staffs carrying ERAs above 4.00, the 8.5-run line looks attainable for one of the best KBO bets today.
