Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 22

There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we came to a conclusion for each one of our KBO picks today:

Lotte Giants vs. Doosan Bears: Bears (-145)

The Doosan Bears are in an excellent position to bounce back against the Lotte Giants, with ace Gwak Been providing a major advantage on the mound. At -145, the Bears are the preferred moneyline play.

Been has been outstanding throughout the season, carrying a 2.46 ERA and 1.11 WHIP. He’s also in exceptional recent form, allowing just one or no runs in three of his last four starts. That consistency should give Doosan a strong foundation against Lotte.

Been has also dominated this particular matchup. He’s 3-0 with a 2.74 ERA against the Giants in 2026, giving him both the form and track record to control Lotte’s lineup once again.

The Giants counter with Park Se-woong, who has struggled badly against Doosan. Park owns an ugly 8.62 ERA against the Bears this season, while his overall numbers sit at a 4.77 ERA and 1.50 WHIP. His recent form is also concerning, as he’s surrendered nine earned runs across his last three outings.

With Been pitching at an elite level and Park struggling both recently and specifically against Doosan, the Bears have a clear starting-pitching advantage. Doosan should be able to capitalize on Park’s vulnerabilities while relying on Been to limit Lotte’s offense for one of the best KBO picks today.

KIA Tigers vs. Kiwoom Heroes: Tigers (-165)

The KIA Tigers are the preferred moneyline play against the Kiwoom Heroes, with Adam Oller providing a significant advantage on the mound. The combination of KIA’s starting pitcher and Kiwoom’s struggles across the roster makes the Tigers worth backing at -165.

Oller has been one of KIA’s most reliable pitchers this season, entering with a 3.15 ERA and 1.08 WHIP. He’s been even better against the Heroes, posting a 1.50 ERA and 0.83 WHIP in 2026. That matchup history suggests Kiwoom could have a difficult time generating consistent offense.

The Heroes have struggled to support their pitching staff, which carries a 5.24 ERA, second-worst in the KBO. Their bullpen has also been unreliable, creating additional opportunities for KIA to score later in the game.

Kiwoom’s offense is another major concern. The Heroes rank last in the league with a .245 team batting average and just 422 RBIs. Even if An Woo-jin provides a solid start, the lack of consistent run support could make it difficult for Kiwoom to keep pace.

With Oller dominating the Heroes in previous meetings and KIA facing one of the league’s weakest overall teams, the Tigers have the clear advantage. Oller should limit Kiwoom’s offense while KIA takes advantage of the Heroes’ vulnerable pitching staff.
