Four teams are missing from the Week 6 NFL schedule as they are on a bye. The teams not in action this week include the Kansas City Chiefs, LA Rams, Miami Dolphins, and Minnesota Vikings.

San Francisco 49ers vs. Seattle Seahawks Odds and Best Bets

Week 6 kicks off with an NFC West battle between the 49ers and the Seahawks on Thursday Night Football. Both teams are coming off of upset losses in Week 5. The 49ers are 3.5-point road favorites in the latest NFL Lines for Week 6, 2024.

Both team’s defenses have struggled early this season, and their offenses have started to follow suit. The 49ers also have loads of injuries, and playing on a short week will be a tall task. However, San Francisco is still the better team on paper and should win this game.

The Seahawks cannot be counted out, especially with the home advanta. If the Seattle offense from Week 5 shows up, they can pull off the upset. I recommend taking San Francisco to win, but betting on Seattle to cover.

Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Chicago Bears Odds and Best Bets

For the second week in a row, Sunday’s NFL slate will start with an early game in London. The Bears will host the Jaguars at Tottenham Hotspur Stadium. Jacksonville plays more London games than any other team, though, and they could have the de facto homefield advantage this week.

The Jaguars also won their first game of the season last week, beating the Colts 37-34. However, Chicago’s defense is one of the best in the NFL, and Caleb Williams is playing like the Rookie of the Year favorite he was supposed to be.

International games are challenging to pick, but I think the Bears will win this game and cover their NFL lines for Week 6. Williams should have another spectacular day against a poor Jaguars defense, while Lawrence struggles against the Bears’ stout defense. 

Washington Commanders vs. Baltimore Ravens Odds and Best Bets

One of the best games of this weekend pits the Commanders (4-1) against the Ravens (3-2). These teams are close geographically, but Baltimore will have the advantage this weekend as the home team. Bovada has the Ravens as the 6.5-point favorites in its latest NFL spreads for Week 6. 

Washington’s offense has been one of the most efficient units in the league this season. Conversely, the Ravens’ defense has struggled to stop opponents this year and allowed 38 points to the Bengals last week. I think Jayden Daniels will add to his Rookie of the Year campaign with another big game on Sunday.

Baltimore’s biggest strength has been its running game, and the Ravens lead the league with 1,056 yards on the ground. Washington has the second-most with 892 yards, and the Commanders lead the NFL in rushing touchdowns with 13 to the Ravens’ eight. I believe the Commanders will win this game outright and are a great bet to cover their NFL Week 6 lines.

Arizona Cardinals vs. Green Bay Packers Odds and Best Bets

The Cardinals and Packers both won in Week 5, improving to 2-3 and 3-2, respectively. Green Bay hosts Arizona this week, and the Packers are 5-point favorites in the latest NFL Week 6 projections. The total points for this game are set at over/under 49.5.

Green Bay’s offense looked better last week, and Jordan Love got his first win of the season in his second game back from his MCL injury. Arizona’s offense has also been impressive this season, and both teams are top-four in rushing yards.

This game will come down to which team can run the ball better, and I think the Packers are worthy home favorites. A 5-point spread is too big, though, and I believe the Cardinals will cover on the road this Sunday.

Houston Texans vs. New England Patriots Odds and Best Bets

The Texans (4-1) beat the Bills in Week 5 and want to solidify their standing as an AFC Conference Championship contender. They face the Patriots this week in Foxborough. Top-rated offshore sportsbooks have the Texans as 7.0-point road favorites heading into this game.

Houston’s offense has struggled this year, but their defense has kept them in most games. The Texans’ defense should have another good day against the Patriots, who have not scored more than 20 points in any game this season.

I expect Houston to win this game easily, but wagering on a touchdown favorite to cover is usually not the best betting strategy. On the other hand, New England’s offense is terrible, and I doubt they can keep this game within one score.

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints Odds and Best Bets

Next on my list of NFL Week 6 best bets is the NFC South matchup between the Buccaneers and the Saints. Both teams have already lost to Atlanta once this season, and they need a win this week to prevent the Falcons from running away with the division.

New Orleans is at home this week, but they are a 2.5-point underdog in the updated NFL betting lines for Week 6. The Saints’ offense started great but has struggled the last three weeks. They should have an easier time moving the ball against the Buccaneers on Sunday.

Assuming the right Buccaneers offense shows up, Tampa Bay is the best bet to win this game. I think Baker Mayfield will lead the Bucs to a win, and Tampa Bay will cover the 2.5-point spread on the road in the Big Easy.

Cleveland Browns vs. Philadelphia Eagles Odds and Best Bets

Philadelphia (2-2) is coming off a bye and is listed as an 8.5-point favorite in the latest NFL Week 6 spreads. The Eagles host the Browns (1-4), who were blown out by the Commanders on Sunday.

Cleveland’s offense has been unwatchable this season, but so has the Eagles’ defense. If Deshaun Watson is still a starting-level quarterback, he must have a big game this weekend. A loss would effectively end Cleveland’s playoff hopes for this season.

I think the Eagles will win this game. However, Philly has done nothing this season to be worthy of being an 8.5-point favorite. Philadelphia will win, but the Browns will cover their spread this week.

Indianapolis Colts vs. Tennessee Titans Odds and Best Bets

The Colts (2-3) and the Titans (1-3) are also fighting to keep their seasons alive in their AFC South matchup this week. Indianapolis is currently second in the division, but the Titans could pass them with a win on Sunday. Bovada has Tennessee as the 1-point favorite at home, but this game is a pick’em on the moneyline.

Both teams are dealing with injuries at the most important position in football. Anthony Richardson is struggling with a hip problem and Will Levis has a shoulder injury. The Colts must also overcome Jonathan Taylor’s ankle injury to win this weekend.

Even without their starting quarterback, I think the Colts can win this game. If Richardson does play, then Indy could run away with this one. The Colts should win outright, covering their 1-point spread.

LA Chargers vs. Denver Broncos Odds and Best Bets

Another divisional matchup in Week 6 pits the Chargers vs. the Broncos in Denver. The winner of this game will be second place in the division. Oddsmakers have LA as a 3-point road favorite in this AFC West matchup.

The Chargers had a bye last week and need a win to avoid a third straight loss. Denver, conversely, has won three straight games and dominated the Raiders last week.

Justin Herbert has had extra time to recover from his ankle injury, and his health will be the deciding factor in this game. The bye week was exactly what Herbert and the Chargers needed, and they should win this game by at least three points.

Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Las Vegas Raiders Odds and Best Bets

Speaking of the Raiders, they host the Steelers this week in the latest chapter of a decades-long rivalry. Las Vegas is a 3-point underdog at home in the latest NFL odds for Week 6, 2024, but I think they will win this game outright.

The Steelers started the season 3-0 but have lost back-to-back games since. Pittsburgh’s defense struggled against the Colts and came up short on its goal line stand against the Cowboys. Their offense also struggled in their Monday Night Football loss to Dallas.

Las Vegas has plenty of issues of its own, but history is on the Raiders’ side. The Steelers are just 1-4 in their last five road games against the Raiders. That streak will continue, with LAs Vegas picking up the upset win on Sunday.

Atlanta Falcons vs. Carolina Panthers Odds and Best Bets

Atlanta (3-2) has a slim lead in the NFC South after back-to-back wins over the Saints and Buccaneers. They can strengthen their hold over the division with a win over the Panthers (1-4) this Sunday. Atlanta is a 6-point road favorite in the updated NFL football odds for Week 6, 2024.

Carolina has been arguably the worst team in the NFL this year, scoring just 83 points in five games. They scored 36 of those points in their Week 3 win over the Raiders. The Panthers’ offense will struggle again this week against the Falcons.

Atlanta made it through its demanding opening schedule with a 3-2 record. They need this win before their schedule toughens up again. The Falcons will win and cover as road favorites in Carolina this Sunday.

Detroit Lions vs. Dallas Cowboys Odds and Best Bets

One of the most anticipated matchups of this weekend pits the Lions (3-1) against the Cowboys (3-2) in Dallas. This is a rematch of one of the best games of last season, which the Cowboys won thanks to some questionable officiating. Dallas is a 3-point underdog at in the latest Week 6, 2024 NFL odds.

The Lions had a bye last week, so they should be well-rested for this matchup. Dallas, on the other hand, played on MNF, and the game was delayed nearly 90 minutes due to weather. Another reason to doubt the Cowboys is that they have not won a game at home this season.

Dallas is also dealing with a slew of injuries on defense, so Detroit’s offense should have a big day on Sunday. I believe the Lions will win a high-scoring game in Dallas. However, I recommend taking the Cowboys’ point spread for this NFC matchup, because it should be close.

Cincinnati Bengals vs. New York Giants Odds and Best Bets

This week’s Sunday Night Football matchup features the Bengals (1-4) taking on the Giants (2-3) at MetLife. The G-Men won in shocking fashion over the Seahawks last week, but they are underdogs again this week. New York is listed at +3 in the current NFL spreads for Week 6, 2024.

As their records indicate, both of these teams have significant flaws. For the Bengals, it is their entire defense. The Giants’ defense is good, but their offense has struggled in year six of the Daniel Jones experiment.

The Bengals should win this game to move to 2-4. However, if the Giants can repeat their performance from last week, they can at least cover the spread, if not win this game outright.

Buffalo Bills vs. New York Jets Odds and Best Bets

Rounding out my list of NFL Week 6 best bets is the Monday Night Football matchup between the Bills and the Jets. This game can have significant implications for the AFC East. Adding to the excitement is the fact that the Jets fired head coach Robert Saleh this week. 

New York could get the typical new head coach bump, and they have split with the Bills in recent years. The Bills’ offense has also struggled recently and could have a long night against the Jets’ defense. Field conditions will also be a factor as the Giants play at home just 24 hours before.

Before the start of the season, I would have picked the Bills to win this game and cover. After seeing their recent games, though, I think the Jets are the better bet to win this game outright and cover their spread.
