Best WNBA Predictions Today (With Reasoning), July 17
There are important things to know before betting on the WNBA. Fortunately, if you can’t do your own research, you can see exactly how we arrived at each of our WNBA picks today and the key factors that influenced our analysis.
Atlanta Dream vs. Toronto Tempo +10 (-110)
Atlanta (14-10) comes in as a double-digit favorite at WNBA betting sites, but that number is hard to trust given the Dream’s recent form. They’ve dropped four straight road games outright. A team that can’t win away from home has no business being laid 10 points on the road.

Toronto (10-14) is finishing up a homestand, which is a meaningful edge. Playing in front of your home crowd, in a familiar building, with your routine intact matters, especially late in a stretch of home games when a team is comfortable and confident. Add in the Marina Mabrey factor: she was held to just eight points last time out, and a bounce-back performance from a player of her caliber is well overdue.
The Tempo don’t need to win this game outright for the bet to cash. They just need to keep it within 10 points, and with Atlanta’s road struggles and Mabrey primed to remind everyone what she’s capable of, that’s a very reasonable ask.
Connecticut Sun (+165) vs. Phoenix Mercury
The public money is on Phoenix (8-17) here, but the Mercury have dropped four straight and have been one of the streakiest teams in the league all season. Laying -195 juice on a team in that kind of skid is a tough sell, and the value simply isn’t there given how Phoenix has been playing.

Connecticut (6-18) is the more interesting side of this number. The Sun have been far more competitive lately, and their offense has been finding its rhythm behind Brittney Griner. Their recent form suggests this is a team trending in the right direction, even if the overall record hasn’t caught up yet.
Getting +165 on a team that’s playing better basketball right now against a squad on a four-game losing streak is exactly the kind of spot sharp bettors look for. The line is inflated by reputation, not by current , and that’s where the value lives.
