Expert WNBA Picks For June 14 (With Reasoning)

After analyzing the latest WNBA odds for today’s slate, we have locked in the following best bets for June 14:

Lynx (-13) vs. Sparks

On Friday night, the red-hot Minnesota Lynx (9-3) look to make it five wins in their previous six games. They are coming off an impressive 100-86 win over the defending WNBA champion Las Vegas Aces. The Lynx went on the road and made it look easy against a formidable foe.

It was the second consecutive win for the Lynx over top teams. Prior to beating the Aces, they defeated the nine-win Storm, 83-64. Will the Lynx keep it rolling against the Sparks? They already did on June 5 in Los Angeles by a score of 86-62.

This isn’t much of a surprise considering the Lynx’s impressive metrics this season. Minnesota is third in the league, with an offensive rating of 105.5. They are barely behind the New York Liberty and Aces in this respect.

Overall, the Lynx have a team Net rating of 12.9, which ranks the best in the WNBA! Conversely, the Sparks are 10th, with a paltry -6.8 Net rating. The Lynx’s well-balanced starting five should be too much to contain for the Sparks.

I recommend laying the points on the Lynx to cover the point spread at home tonight! The Lynx are a top bet for my WNBA betting picks on Friday, June 14.

Angel Reese vs. Washington Mystics (Over 9.5 Rebounds)

Angel Reese trails Caitlin Clark in the WNBA Rookie of the Year race, but it doesn’t mean she hasn’t been effective. In particular, Reese has been a force in the paint at the rim.

She knows her strengths and uses them to her advantage in the WNBA. Reese has averaged 12.4 points, 9.6 rebounds, and 1.8 assists per game. The former LSU star is getting more comfortable as a rebounder over the past two weeks.

Reese has grabbed at least 10 rebounds in five straight outings! She’s gotten into the double digits in each of her five games this June. Additionally, Reese has recorded 10+ rebounds in six of his previous seven performances for the Chicago Sky.

In 2024, the Mystics are just eighth in defensive rounding and seventh in defensive rebounding. Look for Reese to impose her will on the Mystics to get involved on the boards. Reese’s Over 9.5 rebound prop wager is a great option for your WNBA best bets today!

Our Free WNBA Best Bets Strategy

Before making our WNBA bets, we analyze several variables and data points to draw a conclusion. We suggest using our betting tips to make your own WNBA predictions this season!

While no one can promise a 100% success rate, sticking to this process can help grind out a profit in the WNBA. Here’s our process of finding the best betting value for WNBA picks and parlays.

1. Be Patient And Pick Your Spots

Most of the WNBA season is played after the NBA Championship. The only major sport underway during the summer is baseball, so there is a tendency to look to WNBA for betting action.

With hundreds of WNBA bets available on a daily basis, some bettors get into the habit of playing too many plays. For our WNBA picks, we are patient and wait for the best spots. This can translate to only two or three bets per day, sometimes fewer!

The WNBA schedule will take us to mid-September, which is when the NFL is getting into full swing. Don’t treat the WNBA as a sport to keep yourself busy by blindly betting before then. Patience is key.

2. Compare Offensive Efficiency And Pace

Head coaches have different offensive philosophies for who they operate their offense. Some run-and-gun, while others prefer to slow it down and work from the inside out.

There will be teams who struggle against teams that push the pace. If two teams match up that like to run, it’s likely that the game will be high scoring. Conversely, the opposite will be true for half court offenses.

Additionally, this can be telling for determining the winner of the game and covering point spreads. Does your team of choice struggle against the fast break, or teams with size?

It’s vital to understand the dynamics of the opponent before confirming your wager!

3. Check The NET Ratings

The WNBA has a slew of advanced stats for bettors to dive into before deciding on the best bets. For a quick snapshot that compiles multiple metrics into one number, consider examining the Net Rating.

The Net Rating takes into consideration a team’s offensive and defensive efficiency. The offensive efficiency is subtracted from the defensive to calculate the Net Rating. This provides the point differential per 100 possessions.

Early in the season, using the Net Rating without an ample sample size can be ineffective. However, as the season progresses, it’s a helpful tool for your WNBA betting arsenal.

4. Look At Player Matchups

Critically important for wagering on the WNBA, prop bets in particular, is evaluating matchups on the floor. Let’s assume you are interested in betting on Caitlin Clark props.

Wouldn’t you like to know who her primary defender will be? If she has an easier matchup, there will be a higher probability of her having a stronger performance!  The same applies to teams that are poor at defending the three-pointer.

Clark’s stats show that she likes to spray shots from deep, so she should be more successful against teams that don’t have solid perimeter defenders. The same applies to players in the front court against teams that struggle on the interior.

5. Line Shopping

Line shopping for the best WNBA price for your bet is an important step for your strategy. It can be the difference between booking a profit and losing in any particular season!

For our daily WNBA best bets, we are using Bovada, BetUS, Everygame, BetWhale, and more to line shop. We highly recommend having a minimum of three top betting sites to compare the odds before locking in your wagers.
