FIFA World Cup Group H Betting Preview: Odds, Analysis, and Predictions

The biggest issue in this squad is at fullback. In modern soccer, wide areas are very important, and Uruguay can struggle there with Guillermo Varela and Mathias Olivera.

Further up the pitch, Darwin Núñez remains a difficult player to predict. He creates opportunities with his movement and energy, but his finishing can be inconsistent. The problems start with the attack. Outside of Al-Dawsari (who is 34 years old), Saudi Arabia does not have many proven goal scorers. In a World Cup group stage, teams usually need multiple players capable of creating and finishing chances.

Another concern is the coaching situation. Georgios Donis only became head coach in April, giving him very little time to build chemistry and fully implement his system before the tournament begins.

The talent gap is also difficult to ignore. Cabo Verde will try stay organized defensively and hit on the counter, but that’s easier said than done against teams like Spain and Uruguay. Their only chance of getting something would be against Saudi Arabia, but even this match looks very hard.
