Race 3 is a $22,000 race covering 5 ½ furlongs. Katie’s Cowboy and Midnight Punk should put together a strong race in this one.
Katie’s Cowboy is 3 for 24 and hasn’t won since September 12. Since the win, Katie’s Cowboy has finished 2nd, 5th, 3rd, 8th, 6th.
In her latest attempt, she finished 6th for a $54,000 prize. Katie’s Cowboy has more to show than that kind of effort.
Prior to that attempt, she was 8th on November 14 for a $46,000 purse. Katie’s Cowboy is moving well down in class and should perform well on these terms.
Midnight Punk might be able to cause some noise if she catches a break somewhere along the way. If everything goes right for Midnight Punk, there could be an argument for a win.
Midnight Punk is a wily veteran with 42 races of experience. Two races back, Midnight Punk struck with a 2 length win at the $12,020 level at Presque Isle.
However, a transfer to Gulfstream Park to face tougher horses didn’t go so well. Midnight Punk finished 10th for a $24,000 purse on November 13.
Katie’s Cowboy has the best chance of going in versus this competition.

Race 4 is a mile on the dirt for a $24,000 purse. I’d give Battle Cry and Our Fantasy some credit in this spot.
Battle Cry is a three-time winner and has been consistent recently. She has finished 1st, 3rd, 2nd in her last three attempts.
Battle Cry found a win by a neck on October 16 for a $24,000 purse. She couldn’t follow up, but was still close, going 3rd on November 21 in a $12,500 assignment.
In her latest outing, Battle Cry placed 2nd behind Dem a Wonder by ¾ lengths for a $54,000 purse on December 16.
Our Fantasy is 5 for 20 and in good form recently. She’s finished 3rd, 3rd, 2nd in her last three races. In her last race, Our Fantasy placed 2nd behind Sweet Willemina by a head for an $80,000 purse.
That was impressive and she is moving down to a level that is more than beatable for her skills. Expect Our Fantasy to draw clear from this field in the stretch.
