The Saturday card isn’t the biggest for stakes racing, but there’s an ample card at the BetOnline racebook. BetOnline has 13 racecourses for wagering in the US. The biggest stakes race is the $200,000 Lecomte Stakes (Gr. 3) at Fair Grounds.
Fair Grounds has the most stakes racing on Saturday with six events. The only two graded races are in New Orleans today. We’re going with two east coast tracks at Gulfstream Park and Laurel Park.

Race 2 is a $30,000 event covering 5 ½ furlongs on the dirt. Calypso Ghost and Dilly Dilly Philly should be tough runners in this one.
Calypso Ghost is 9 for 34 in her career, with good work recently to put her in contention. The mare has finished 1st, 1st, 8th, 4th, 1st in her previous five attempts.
She is coming off a $19,040 win on New Year’s Day by a neck. That was an impressive attempt from Calypso Ghost after finishing 4th on December 14 in a $16,200 assignment.
We’ll see if a jump in grade to $30,000 does anything positively. Dilly Dilly Philly is 7 for 29 and has finished 1st, 1st, 4th in her previous three attempts.
The mare defeated Terpeye by 6 lengths for a $18,000 purse. Then Dilly Dilly Philly beat Le Petite Papillon by 3 ¾ lengths in a $23,000 race. After stepping up in class and faltering, Dilly Dilly Philly should appreciate this race.

Race 3 is a mile for a $20,400 purse this afternoon. Look for Betcha by Golly and Miss Moreno to run a sharp race in this one.
Betcha by Golly is 2 for 16 in her career, and has finished 3rd, 1st, 4th, 6th in four attempts. Three races back, Betcha by Golly beat Hot Choice by 3 ¼ lengths in a $32,750 race.
That was an impressive win from Betcha by Golly, but he’s slipped since then. He came back to finish 4th on December 18 for a $42,800 purse and 6th for a $26,680 purse.
Back down to the $20,400 level, expect Betcha by Golly to have a better chance at a win. Miss Moreno should be there to pick up on any weakness, though.
Miss Moreno is a two-time winner through 15 races, going 1st, 6th, 3rd, 3rd in his previous four outings. He scored a $17,510 win in a blowout by 15 ¼ lengths four races back.
After that win, he’s been dabbling in tough assignments. In her last outing, Miss Moreno showed 3rd for a $26,680 purse on January 2.
That was a solid enough attempt in that class to finish well ahead of Betcha by Golly. Look at the No. 2 to be a tough runner.
