Los Angeles Rams vs. Green Bay Packers Betting Preview MNF Pick – Week 15 December 19

It promises to be a frigid Monday night affair from Lambeau Field to close out Week 15, as the Los Angeles Rams head to Green Bay to take on the Packers.

While both teams were scheduled to be contenders this season, it really has not materialized as such. The Rams enter as a 4-9 team, miles away from post-season contention, and will be starting a passed-around Baker Mayfield in this contest.

For Green Bay, they’re a little closer – but still firmly on the outside looking in, with regard to a competitive playoff race. They enter as 5-8, and it’s been a dismal season for Aaron Rodgers and this offense. Green Bay still has a shot though, but it does require some help, and they’ll need to win out. Can this regarded group flip the switch and find a way back to contention? We’ll find out a lot on Monday night.

With all that is on the line in Week 15, this clash figures to be a thrilling one. Baker Mayfield has looked rejuvenated with a new outlook under Sean McVay, while the Packers still have a lifeline and a path to the playoffs. For further insight on this must-see clash, continue reading on beneath the posted odds for a full matchup preview, trends, and the latest information to help you make an informed decision for Week 15’s Packers vs. Rams Monday night showdown. Green Bay Packers vs. Los Angeles Rams Prediction

Baker Mayfield has looked great since joining the Los Angeles Rams, and he’s done it without much time to prepare, or learn the playbook. He dominated the Raiders’ secondary last week, and with an added week to familiarize himself with schemes and teammates, Mayfield should give the Rams more under center than they were getting with a banged-up Stafford, or his replacements.

He will be challenged by a heavy Green Bay blitzing defense though, and he hasn’t exactly fared all that well under pressure throughout his career. Instead, the Rams will likely turn to an improving run game, featuring Cam Akers on Monday night. The Packers have been brutal at stopping opposing runners, and it’s likely the reason why they are where they are in the standings right now. Expect a breakout game for the talented runner, provided his offensive line makes their blocks.

For the Packers on offense, the recent bye week came at the ideal time for this fading Green Bay attack. It’s allowed Aaron Rodgers to likely get healthier, and he should be able to bully a pedestrian Rams’ defensive backfield. While Rodgers has been critical of the Packers’ receivers at times this season, rookie Christian Watson has stepped up in recent weeks to lead the way through the air.

That might be the only way Green Bay can move the ball though, as the Rams, unlike Green Bay, have been elite vs. stopping opposing rushers all season long. The two-headed tandem of Aaron Jones and AJ Dillon will find it tough to find holes and break through. With knowing this, expect the Rams to really emphasize getting pressure to Rodgers, and stopping the long-ball against.

This spread is just too high for a Green Bay team that has shown virtually nothing this season. It’ll be cold and windy, and tough for the Packers to move the ball through the air. Add in the fact that David Bakhtiari is out along the Green Bay offensive line, and expect the Rams to battle once again in a close matchup on Monday Night Football.

Rams vs. Packers Trends To Know:

  • Rams are 13-3-1 ATS in their last 17 games in December.
  • Rams are 4-1-1 ATS in their last 6 games on grass.
  • Packers are 1-4 ATS in their last 5 home games.
  • Packers are 1-5 ATS in their last 6 games in Week 15.

Lambeau Field hasn’t been the fortress that it used to be for the Green Bay Packers, and don’t expect that trend to change course tonight. The Rams under Mayfield have looked like they’re keen on playing out their season with pride, while Green Bay winning by more than a touchdown seems to be a tough feat given their current offensive situation. With the conditions problematic, expect the Rams’ rushing attack to keep this game tight throughout.

Our Pick
Rams +7
