Expert Golf Predictions This Week (With Reasoning)

If you want to read about the reasoning for each one of the bets we locked in this week, continue reading below:

Bubba Watson over Phil Mickelson (-150)

In the head-to-head matchup between Bubba Watson and Phil Mickelson, there is solid value in this wager. The two veterans are living out the twilight of their careers, cashing in on the LIV Golf Tour.

The 55-year-old Mickelson is wildly inconsistent and here to collect a huge paycheck, with winning golf tournaments not the priority. Mickelson finished T4 two tournaments back in the LIV Golf Virginia event, but otherwise, he has not had his stroke working.

The six-time major winner has finished 49th, T4, 50th, and T22 over his previous four events since April 27. Per the latest LIV Golf stats, Mickelson is only 35th in driving distance as opposed to T14 for Watson.

Additionally, Mickelson is 20th in fairways hit off the tee compared to Watson’s T12 ranking. Mickelson’s putting has been solid for sixth in LIV Golf, but he’s making it difficult on himself before reaching the dance floor.

Watson’s results have been superior, and most importantly, consistent compared to Mickelson. The 46-year-old veteran has finished T37, T4, T17, and T7 to beat Mickelson in all but the tie in Virginia. Watson isn’t going to win tournaments consistently, but he still has enough in the tank to oust Mickelson.

All in all, Watson should probably have a -165 price to finish ahead of Mickelson on the leaderboard. I suggest backing Watson to beat Mickelson as one of your best golf picks this week!

Patrick Reed Top 10 Finish (+100)

University of Georgia alum Patrick Reed is on my shortlist of best golf betting picks this week, too. Histop 10 finish odds are appealing at even odds! The 34-year-old is having some success on the LIV Golf since joining in 2022.

He captured the first LIV title of his career last month in the LIV Dallas event at Maridoe Golf Club. Reed has been playing strong golf in solid form in 2025, so his maiden win wasn’t a surprise. He’s on an impressive run with a win, T23, T4, T17, and T7 performances over five tournaments since April 6.

Reed has finished in the top 10 in three of his previous six outings and returns to a golf course that he’s liked playing at in the past. Last year, Reed finished T4 on the leaderboard at LIV Golf Andalucia 2024. With four top 10 performances in 2025, some of that momentum has been on display this season, too.

Additionally, Reed performed at a high level on the PGA Tour in the US Open and Masters. He finished 3rd at Augusta National and had a respectable T23 performance in the US Open.

Reed has reached a respectable 68.72% of greens in regulation, for 17th on LIV Golf. Additionally, he has been a proficient scrambler, with a 63.82% success rate to rank fourth out of 54 golfers on the LIV Golf Tour.

In short, Reed is a solid value option as one of the best LIV Golf picks this week!
