Best Bets for the German Bundesliga Today, October 26 (With Reasoning)
Here’s why I recommend my Bundesliga betting picks for today, October 26.
Bayer Leverkusen vs Freiburg: Both Teams to Score (-150)
Two teams in the top-half of the table meet at BayArena on Saturday and I’m backing goals coming from both teams for Sunday’s Bundesliga picks.
These teams have a long history of cashing Overs and bets on both teams to score. Last season Leverkusen won 5-1 and they drew 2-2. Those results extended a streak of both “Both Teams To Score” bets to a perfect 10-0. Even betting on the combo bet of both teams scoring and over 2.5 is on a 9-1 run.
Betting on both teams to score have been popular trends for both teams this season too. Leverkusen has cashed that prop in nine of 11 overall matches. They’ve managed to score in every single match and come into this game off the back of a 4-3 win over Mainz last week and a 7-2 loss to PSG in the Champions League.
Freiburg’s matches haven’t been quite as outrageous with goals, but both teams have scored in seven of their 11 overall games. They haven’t suffered a loss in eight matches, but also hadn’t won in four prior to their Europa League match this week which they won 2-0 over Utrecht. Their last five matches have ended 1-1, 1-1, 0-0, 2-2, and 2-0.
Freiburg may be the weaker side and travelling on short rest, but they have only failed to score once all season. Therefore, this looks like a great game to bet on goals.
Stuttgart vs Mainz: Stuttgart Moneyline (-138)
Stuttgart continue to impress this season, sitting at 5-0-2 and rising to 3rd in the Bundesliga. In league play, they’ve won four straight, which included a 3-0 rout of Wolfsburg last week.
Their league wins have been broken up by losses in the Europa League, including a road loss in Turkey on Thursday to Fenerbahce 1-0. That one goal came through a penalty, meaning they’ve not given up a goal from open play in each of their last three games.
Mainz have collected all three points just once this season in Germany, leaving them 1-1-5 and sitting in 16th place. Die Nullfunfer came into their mid-week Conference League match losers of three straight in the league. They had also conceded four goals in back-to-back games.
Playing in Europe proved to be a welcome reprieve, as they beat HSK Zrinjski Mostar from Bosnia and Herzegovina 1-0. However, beating a team from a lower league and after Zrinjski took a red card in the first half, is hardly much to get excited about.
Even with that advantage, Mainz managed only one shot on target. That’s been a season-long trend in the Bundesliga too, putting only 19 shots on target—a league-worst.
There’s not much to like about Mainz right now, so I’m betting on the Stuttgart moneyline here.
