Best Bets for the Italian Serie A Today, October 26 (With Reasoning)

Here’s why I selected my Serie A betting picks for today, October 26.

Verona vs Cagliari: Draw (+205)

Betting on unders is typically the way to go this season when making Serie A predictions. Only five teams have played to more Over 2.5 totals than Unders.

Let’s look at Verona and Cagliari who are prime examples of teams playing low-scoring games. Verona’s games average 1.6 goals per game, they’ve scored only two goals, and are 6-1 to Under 2.5 totals. Cagliari’s games average 2.0 goals per game, they’ve scored just six goals, and they’re 6-1 to Under 2.5 totals.

In past head-to-head meetings, it was 1-0 and 2-0 Cagliari last season. The Under 2.5 is also 7-1 in their past eight matches.

Unfortunately, the bookies know this clearly and offer low odds on the totals market. The best alternative is to back the draw here, as I expect very little chances between both sides. I won’t be shocked if this one ends up goalless, but this bet also cover 1-1, so I’m happy to take the +205 for the tie.

Fiorentina vs Bologna: Bologna Draw No Bet (-113)

Fiorentina are not doing well nowadays. They won in the Conference League 3-0 over Rapid Vienna, but their only wins have come in the Conference League and they’re still looking for a victory in Serie A.

Bologna also got a win Thursday in Europe, playing in the Europa League, beating FCSB 2-1. In all competitions, they’re 3-2-0 in their last five and have now scored multiple goals in four of five.

Let’s look at some low-scoring trends with these teams as well. Fiorentina matches have averaged just 2.1 goals per game and Bologna’s 2.4.

Bologna are better offensively with 11 goals scored, compared to only five for Fiorentina. When you consider Bologna have only conceded five themselves, while Fiorentina have given up ten, I give the edge to the Rossoblu.

Bologna also own the league’s top scorer in Riccardo Orsolini, making him a viable option in the Serie A props.

With Bologna priced as +174 road underdogs, I can still find a decent, safe bet on the Draw No Bet option for my Serie A best bets.
