2022 QBE Shootout Odds, Prop Bets and Predictions

The 2022 QBE Shootout odds are on the board and we have your best QBE Shootout predictions for the 12-team event in Naples, Florida. The 34th edition of the QBE Shootout is the most unique in its history. For the first time, there will be LPGA players participating in the QBE Shootout.

The world No. 2 women player, Nelly Korda, will team with Denny McCarthy, while No. 7 LPGA pro, Lexi Thompson, is partnered with Maverick McNealy. Next year the QBE Shootout will expand to allow more women to enter the tournament. It will be a full-on mixed-team tournament.

Every team will include a male and woman golfer. The PGA Tour is taking a page from tennis. The ATP and WTA Tour have recently been running more mixed games with some of the biggest names in the game.

This is one way to garner attention for the QBE Shootout. The QBE Shootout is an unofficial money event on the PGA Tour. With a purse of $3.8 million, both winners will receive a payout of $475,000.

Even the dead-last losers do not have a bad weekend at the office. For the 12th-place team, each team member will receive $90,000. This tournament has a unique format across three days of golf at The Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples on Tiburon Golf Club.

QBE Shootout Format

The 2022 QBE Shootout will feature 12 two-player teams vying for the top prize in Florida. The event is scheduled to begin on Friday morning and finish on Sunday afternoon. Each day of the tournament will have a different format.

  • Round 1 (Scramble) December 9, 2022 – The 2022 QBE Shootout will begin on Friday morning, with tee times scheduled between 9:45 a.m. to 11:00 a.m. EST. The scramble format is when the second shots are played from the best tee shot.
  • Round 2 (Modified Alternate Shot) December 10, 2022 – The second round will be on NBC during the afternoon hours from 2:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m. EST. This is an interesting format, as players will make their second shot from their partner’s tee shot.
  • Round 3 (Fourball) December 11, 2022 – The final round of the QBE Shootout will conclude around 4:00 p.m. EST on NBC. The fourball format is when each team member plays their own ball. There is nothing complicated about fourball golf.

If you are attending the QBE Shootout, there is a concert event on the second day of the QBE Shootout event. Brad Paisley, Jake Owen, and .38 Special are scheduled to perform after Round 2 at the Tiburon Golf Club driving range.

Even if you are not completely interested in golf, there are QBE Shootout odds to bet and a concert on Saturday. Betting the QBE Shootout betting odds should be enough reason to get interested in this event. We will do our best to point you in the right direction with our QBE Shootout predictions.

The QBE Shootout Past Results

This is the 34th year of the QBE Shootout. It’s always a fun event to enter with a decent enough purse. For a tournament with only 12 teams, a purse of $3.8 million is not the worst. Let’s quickly go over recent results from the QBE Shootout.

A women’s team has never won the QBE Shootout, but this is only because 2022 is the first year for mixed teams. Will Korda or McNealy pull off a huge upset and beat the boys in Naples this weekend?

Where Is The QBE Shootout Being Played?

The 2022 QBE Shootout is at the Ritz-Carlton Golf Resort in Naples, Florida. Within the Ritz-Carlton Golf Club is the Tiburon Golf Club. Just to avoid some confusion, the QBE Shootout is being played on the grounds of the Tiburon Golf Club.

The Tiburon Golf Club was designed by Greg Norman in 1998. Norman has hosted the QBE Shootout at his golf course in the past. However, because of his affiliation with LIV Golf, Norman is not hosting the QBE Shootout in 2022.

Tiburon Golf Club is a par-72, 7,382-yard course in Naples. This is not a particularly tough layout. The scores should continue to be high, as has been the case in previous events here.

The weather is expected to be beautiful for the three-day event. There is expected to be limited wind, with temperatures in the low 80s in Naples this weekend. Golf weather does not get any better than that.

What Channel Is The QBE Shootout On?

The QBE Shootout can be found on the Golf Channel and NBC. The first round is exclusively on the Golf Channel from 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m. EST.

The Golf Channel will pick up the action for the second day at 1:30 p.m. EST on Saturday. The QBE Shootout will turn over to NBC at 2:30 p.m. EST.

For Round 3, an hour of the final round will be on the Golf Channel from 1:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. EST. NBC will have two hours of the conclusion of the tournament and final hole at approximately 4:00 p.m. EST.

QBE Shootout Betting Odds

The first thing you will notice from the 2022 QBE Shootout odds is that this event is wide open. There is not a clear favorite to win this year. The QBE Shootout has a handful of teams that could win.

Finding and betting the best value of this tournament is how to play it as a sports bettor. As a result of this wide-open event, there is plenty of value to be had in the 2022 QBE Shootout.

That being said, I’m not too hot about betting on Jason Day and Billy Horschel as favorites. They are not convincing favorites by any means at +500. There appears to be better value on the QBE Shootout odds.

Behind Day and Horschel, there are four teams with odds from +600 to +650. Harris English and Matt Kuchar, who have won this tournament twice in the past, are +600 to win. Tom Hoge and Sahith Theegala are also +600 to win the QBE Shootout.

Brian Harman and Sepp Straka, along with Max Homa and Kevin Kisner are +650 to win on Sunday. Harman is familiar with this course and has won here in the past. Homa is 16th in the world and could have a big 2023 ahead of him on the PGA Tour.

Along with the QBE Shootout odds to win, TheSportsGeek has a couple of QBE Shootout prop bets to play. Bovada has a huge board for betting QBE Shootout props and unique bets for this tournament.

QBE Shootout Prop Bets

There is a big betting board for the 2022 QBE Shootout at Bovada. If you are a golf handicapper, signing up at Bovada is a must for this event and the 2023 season.

There are QBE Shootout matchup bets, top finishers, and more to get into for this three-day tournament. We are going to play a matchup prop bet and a top-3 performance prop for this weekend at the QBE Shootout.

Brian Harman/Sepp Straka vs. Corey Conners/K.H. Lee Matchup Prop Bet

Brian Harman won the QBE Shootout in 2018 with his partner Patton Kizzire. As a former runner, he is getting some respect on the QBE Shootout odds with Sepp Straka. He has not been playing bad golf this year, either.

Harman is ranked 23rd in the world, so he is no slouch, mind you. Only Cameron Young, Billy Horschel, and Max Homa are ranked higher in the QBE Shootout. Harman is coming off a solid showing at the RSM Classic in November.

He played well for T2 at Sea Island Seaside Course for -17 with Callum Tarren and Sahith Theegala. Adam Svensson was able to edge out the trio with a final score to par of -18. This is not the only successful outing for Harman.

Harman also finished 2nd in an earlier tournament at the World Wide Technology Championship. Despite not getting much attention during the 2022 season, Harman was consistent.

He finished T8 at the Travelers Championship, T6 at the British Open, and T3 at the FedEx St. Jude Championship.

Straka is 27th in the world and has some solid results in his own right. He was in decent form at the Hero World Challenge last week. The 29-year-old finished T10 after missing the cut at the RSM Classic.

He was sharp in the FedEx St. Jude Championship to finish 2nd. Two outings later, Straka finished T6 in the Tour Championship, and then 2nd in the Sanderson Farms Championship a tournament later. Harman and Straka over Corey Conners and K.H. Lee look like a solid wager.

Top-3 Finish Prop Bet

If you have not noticed, Harris English and Matt Kuchar love playing in this tournament. They have won this tournament twice since 2016. English is back with his partner for this one, Matt Kuchar.

English and Kuchar won the QBE Shootout back in 2020 and 2016 on this course in Naples. Both golfers have had good success playing at Tiburon Golf Course.

Under perfect conditions for golf this weekend, expect English and Kuchar to be competitive again. Neither player has been in their top form recently. However, this looks like a good spot for them to build up some confidence going into 2023.

We do not have English and Kuchar winning the 2022 QBE Shootout, but competitive for a top-3 finish on Sunday.

QBE Shootout Predictions

There are two teams that are worth looking at to win the QBE Shootout. We have already discussed one of them, and feel like there is another good value bet on the QBE Shootout odds board.

Brian Harman/Sepp Straka (+650)

If you missed our analysis of Brian Harman and Sepp Straka above, then take a second to go over our thoughts. Harman has played well at Tiburon Golf Club in the past and is entering with a lot of confidence recently.

This looks like the perfect scenario for Harman. He is going into the QBE Shootout playing strong golf. Along with a confident swing, Harman is playing on a course that he is won at previously.

Straka came on strong towards the end of the 2022 PGA Tour season. He was rock solid in the playoffs, finishing 2nd in the FedEx St. Jude Championship and T6 in the Tour Championship. Straka followed that up with 2nd in the Sanderson Farms Championship.

At +650 to win the QBE Shootout, Harman and Straka are strong contenders for a top pick in Naples. That is some good value.

Max Homa/Kevin Kisner (+650)

It is hard to pass over the highest-ranked golfer in this field at +650. Max Homa is the highest-ranked player in the world participating in the QBE Shootout.

The world No. 16 is not coming off his best performance at the Hero World Championship. He finished 17th, but the 2022 Wells Fargo Championship winner had some good results to his name recently.

Homa won the 2022 Fortinet Championship a few months ago. He also looked good in the playoffs at the Tour Championship for 3rd.

Looking to pick up some momentum going into the 2023 PGA Tour season, expect Homa to be a viable team member with Kevin Kisner.

Kisner is not bad in his own right. He should be helpful on the final day on Sunday when the event turns to fourball. Kisner is 31st in the world after finishing 19th at the Hero World Championship.

The 38-year-old veteran did not have a terrible 2022. He was T3 in the Sony Open, 4th in The Players Championship, and 2nd in the WGC-Dell Technologies Match Play. At +650 versus this field, Homa and Kisner are worth considering.
