Two teams, the Colts (-14) and the Chiefs (-10), are double-digit favorites this weekend. Indianapolis is 6-1, and currently the top seed in the AFC. Kansas City, on the other hand, are the three-time defending AFC champions, but still fighting to get back into the playoff picture after a slow start.

One of the teams fighting to keep KC out of the postseason is their AFC West rival, the Los Angeles Chargers. LA lost last week, surrendering the top spot in the division. The Chargers host the Vikings on Thursday Night Football this week.

Six teams will not take the field this week. The teams on a bye include the Seattle Seahawks, Los Angeles Rams, Las Vegas Raiders, Jacksonville Jaguars, Detroit Lions, and Arizona Cardinals.

Minnesota Vikings vs. Los Angeles Chargers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Minnesota Vikings +3 (-105) +150 Over 44.5 (-110)
Los Angeles Chargers -3 (-115) -175 Under 44.5 (-110)

The Vikings (3-3) and Chargers (4-3) both lost at home on Sunday. On the bright side, Minnesota and Los Angeles both have a chance to get back into the win column right away with this TNF matchup.

LA are 3-point favorites against the visiting Vikings. while Minnesota are +150 underdogs on the moneyline.

The Vikings fell short in Carson Wentz’s revenge game against the Eagles, losing 28-22 at home. Wentz is 2-2 as a starter this season in relief of the injured J.J. McCarthy. He will get another start this week as McCarthy misses his fifth game with an ankle injury.

Wentz faces a tough Chargers defense that only allows 192.3 passing YPG. LA’s run defense is less stout, giving up 123.6 rushing YPG, but Minnesota barely averages over 100 RYPG this season.

Minnesota has also struggled to keep Wentz upright, and he has been sacked 14 times in his four starts. LA’s defense has 17 sacks, which is the 12th-most in the NFL. The Chargers’ defense should stifle the Vikings’ passing attack by pressuring Wentz, leading LA to a prime-time win.

Vikings vs. Chargers NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Los Angeles Chargers -3 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Los Angeles Chargers (-175)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 44.5 (-110)

Miami Dolphins vs. Atlanta Falcons Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Miami Dolphins +7 (-105) +295 Over 45 (-105)
Atlanta Falcons +7 (-115) -390 Under 45 (-115)

Miami (1-6) fell to 1-6 after a 31-6 blowout loss to the Browns last weekend. The Dolphins face another tough road opponent this week as they prepare to take on the Falcons (3-3) in Atlanta.

Atlanta are among the biggest favorites of the weekend, as the spread is set at seven points for this one.  The Falcons’ inconsistent offense has had its fair share of problems this season. Atlanta’s rushing attack puts up 136.3 YPG, fourth-most in the NFL, but the team averages just 18.3 PPG. Their struggles typically come on the road, though, and this game is in Atlanta.

Miami’s issues are more extensive and appear to have worsened week by week. After last week’s three-interception performance, Tua Tagovailoa was benched in the loss to Cleveland.

Tagovailoa will start again this week, but like many on the Dolphins’ roster and staff, he is on the hot seat. Atlanta have one of the best passing defenses in the NFL, surrendering a league-low 141.2 passing YPG.

Bijan Robinson, who is second in the NFL with 914 scrimmage yards, is poised for a big day against Miami. The Dolphins allowed rookie Quinshon Judkins to score three times last week, so they are vulnerable.

Robinson and the Falcons’ defense should power Atlanta to a win this weekend.

Dolphins vs. Falcons NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Atlanta Falcons -7 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Atlanta Falcons -7 (-390)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 45 (-105)

Chicago Bears vs. Baltimore Ravens Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Chicago Bears +6.5 (-105) +250 Over 50 (-105)
Baltimore Ravens +6.5 (-115) -300 Under 50 (-115)

Baltimore’s (1-5) season is on the line this weekend against Chicago (4-2). The Ravens entered their bye last week with a 1-5 record and a four-game losing streak. Another loss this weekend would all but end Baltimore’s season.

The good news for Ravens fans is that quarterback Lamar Jackson could return this week from his hamstring injury. Jackson’s expected return is a major reason why the Ravens are 6.5-point favorites this week over the visiting Bears.

Chicago started 0-2, but has won four consecutive games since. The Bears have scored 25+ points in every game of their winning streak, too.

Having Jackson back in the lineup will help the offense, but Baltimore’s defense is still a major concern. The Ravens’ defense held LA to 17 points in their Week 6 loss, but their defense still gives up a league-high 32.3 PPG.

The bye gave Baltimore extra time to rest and prepare for this matchup. However, the Ravens’ defense is still riddled with injuries. Chicago can capitalize on those deficiencies and secure the upset win on the road this week.

Bears vs. Ravens NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Chicago Bears +6.5 (-105)
  • Moneyline Bet: Chicago Bears (+250)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 50 (-105)

Buffalo Bills vs. Carolina Panthers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Buffalo Bills -7.5 (-105) -415 Over 46 (-110)
Carolina Panthers +7.5 (-115) +310 Under 46 (-110)

Buffalo (4-2) also took a losing streak into their bye week, dropping back-to-back games after starting the season 4-0. The Bills are back in action this week, taking on the Panthers (4-3) in Carolina.

Carolina is undefeated at home this season and has won three straight games. Despite their recent success, the Panthers are home underdogs this week. Buffalo are 7.5-point road favorites this weekend in Charlotte.

Buffalo scored 30+ points in each of their first four games. However, Josh Allen and company scored just 34 points combined in their back-to-back losses before their bye week.

Allen and the Bills’ offense face a tough test this week against the Panthers. Carolina have a +36 scoring differential at home this year.

The Panthers’ rushing attack will also present problems for the Bills’ defense. Carolina has averaged over 120 yards on the ground for three straight weeks. Buffalo, conversely, allows the second-most rushing yards in the league (156.3 YPG).

The Bills should win this game, but the Panthers’ defense and running game will allow them to keep the score within 7.5 points.

Bills vs. Panthers NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Carolina Panthers +7.5 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Buffalo Bills (-415)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 46 (-110)

New York Jets vs. Cincinnati Bengals Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
New York Jets +7 (-110) +270 Over 44 (-110)
Cincinnati Bengals -7 (-110) -340 Under 44 (-110)

The Jets (0-7) are the only winless team left in the NFL, falling to 0-7 after their 13-6 loss to the Panthers last week. In addition to losing the game, Justin Fields may have lost his job as the Jets’ starting QB last weekend.

Fields was benched during the loss, and Tyrod Taylor could take over the QB1 job this weekend. Their uncertainty at the most important position in football is one reason the Jets are 7-point underdogs on the road this weekend.

Cincinnati (4-3), on the other hand, has seemingly solved its QB problems for the foreseeable future. Joe Flacco, whom the team traded for two weeks ago, led the Bengals to a major upset over the Steelers on TNF last week.

The Bengals’ offense with Flacco primarily consists of quick passes to Ja’Marr Chase, but the simple scheme is working. The quarterback has racked up 561 passing yards, five TDs, and zero interceptions in his two starts with the Bengals.

If Flacco continues to play at this level, he and the Bengals’ offense will shred the Jets this weekend.

Jets vs. Bengals NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Cincinnati Bengals -7 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Cincinnati Bengals (-340)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 44 (-110)

San Francisco 49ers vs. Houston Texans Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
San Francisco 49ers +1 (-110) +100 Over 41 (-110)
Houston Texans -1 (-110) -120 Under 41 (-110)

San Francisco’s (5-2) 20-10 win over the Falcons on SNF helped the 49ers improve to 5-2 this season and maintain their control of the top spot in the NFC West. The 49ers hit the road this week to take on the Texans (2-4) in Houston.

With Brock Purdy’s status up in the air, the 49ers could be forced to roll with Mac Jones for another week. Despite starting a backup, the 49ers are only 1-point underdogs this week on the road.

Houston has the best scoring defense in the NFL, giving up just 14.7 PPG. However, the Texans’ offense has been abysmal, scoring 21.2 PPG.

Their average is inflated by the Texans’ two wins over the Titans and Ravens. In those wins, Houston put up 70 of its 127 points scored this year. The Texans have averaged just 14.25 PPG in their four losses this year.

San Fran’s defense has battled through injuries but held the explosive Falcons’ offense to just 10 points last week. If the 49ers’ backups can continue to play at a high level, San Fran can get the road win this week.

49ers vs. Texans NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: San Francisco 49ers +1 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: San Francisco 49ers (+100)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 41 (-110)

Cleveland Browns vs. New England Patriots Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Cleveland Browns +7 (-115) +290 Over 40.5 (-110)
New England Patriots -7 (-105) -380 Under 4.5 (-110)

Speaking of great defenses, the Browns’ (2-5) dominant showing at home last week earned Cleveland their second win of the season. Cleveland will attempt to build on that momentum this week against the AFC East-leading Patriots (5-2).

New England has won four straight games and is a 7-point home favorite this week. Cleveland is listed as a +290 moneyline underdog as they are looking for their first road win of the year.

Despite the odds and New England’s recent success, the Pats are only 1-2 at home this season.

Both teams have top-five run defenses, allowing fewer than 83 rushing YPG. Cleveland also has a top-ranked passing defense, giving up the third-fewest passing YPG (173.7). However, the Browns’ defense struggles on the road, and Drake Maye will be one of the best quarterbacks they have faced this season.

Maye has 1,744 passing yards and 12 passing TDs, both of which ranked eighth in the league. He was sacked four times last week and could struggle against the Browns’ dominant pass rush. However, Maye should play well enough to lead the Pats to their fifth straight win.

Browns vs. Patriots NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Cleveland Browns +7 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: New York Patriots (-380)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 40.5 (-110)

New York Giants vs. Philadelphia Eagles Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
New York Giants +7 (-115) +300 Over 44 (-110)
Philadelphia Eagles -7 (-105) -400 Under 44 (-110)

In a rematch from Week 6, the Giants (2-5) will look to pull off another upset over the Eagles (5-2) this weekend. New York shocked the Eagles 34-17 two weeks ago, but the G-Men are 7-point underdogs in Philly this week.

The Eagles ended their two-game skid with a 28-22 win over the Vikings last week. Jalen Hurts racked up a season-high 325 passing yards and three passing TDs in the win. Hurts was also sacked three times and had -10 rushing yards in the game.

His stats looked good against the Giants in Week 6, too, but the Eagles’ offense only managed 17 points, tied for their lowest of the season.

A key part of New York’s upset over the Eagles two weeks ago was the Giants’ rushing attack. Cam Skattebo had 110 scrimmage yards and three rushing TDs in the win. The Giants’ best chance of securing the road upset is to rely heavily on Skattebo again this week.

New York also must overcome the emotional toll of their loss last week. The Giants led 19-0 with 14:14 remaining, but lost 33-32 in Denver. They are also winless on the road this season, and that is unlikely to change this weekend, but the Giants should keep the game competitive.

Giants vs. Eagles NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: New York Giants +7 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Philadelphia Eagles (-400)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 44 (-110)

Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. New Orleans Saints Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Tampa Bay Buccaneers -4.5 (-110) -225 Over 46.5 (-110)
New Orleans Saints +4.5 (-110) +185 Under 46.5 (-110)

Tampa Bay (5-2) and New Orleans (1-6) face off this week as both NFC South teams look to bounce back from disappointing road losses in Week 7. The Buccaneers lost 24-9 in prime time to the Lions, and the Saints fell 26-14 against the Bears.

Tampa Bay lost control of the number one seed as a result of their defeat. On the bright side, they are in a great position to win this week against the Saints. The Bucs are 4.5-point road favorites for this divisional matchup.

Baker Mayfield’s MVP campaign took a hit with the loss to Detroit. Mayfield managed just 8.1 yards per completion and had a 66.1 passer rating, both of which were season lows.

Luckily for Mayfield and the injury-depleted Bucs’ offense, they take on a Saints team allowing 26.6 PPG this year, sixth-most in the NFL. Even the beat-up Bucs should be able to move the ball consistently against this Saints team. Tampa Bay should win and cover the spread this week.

Buccaneers vs. Saints NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Tampa Bay Buccaneers -4.5 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Tampa Bay Buccaneers (-225)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 46.5 (-110)

Dallas Cowboys vs. Denver Broncos Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Dallas Cowboys +3.5 (-120) +150 Over 50 (-110)
Denver Broncos -3.5 (+100) -175 Under 50 (-110)

Dallas (3-3-1) dominated the Commanders last week, earning a crucial 44-22 divisional win. Denver (5-2) also had something to celebrate after a 33-point fourth quarter secured a comeback win over the visiting Giants.

The Cowboys and the Broncos square off this week in Denver. Bo Nix and the Broncos are 3.5-point home favorites for the contest.

Dallas’s passing attack averages 268.4 YPG, the second-most in the NFL. Now that CeeDee Lamb is back from injury, that number could go even higher. However, Dallas faces a tough test against Denver.

The Broncos lead the NFL with 34 sacks this season. Despite the high sack total, though, Denver has allowed 215.1 passing YPG, which is tied for the 15th-most in the NFL. They have also surrendered 131.9 YPG on the ground, the sixth-most in the NFL.

Cowboys’ running back Javonte Williams is well-positioned for a productive day against his former team. Dak Prescott will also be able to pick apart the Broncos’ defense if Dallas’s O-line can keep him upright. Denver should have lost last week, and I expect them to lose against the Cowboys this Sunday..

Cowboys vs. Broncos NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Dallas Cowboys +3.5 (-120)
  • Moneyline Bet: Dallas Cowboys (+150)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 50 (-110)

Tennessee Titans vs. Indianapolis Colts Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Tennessee Titans +14 (-110) +700 Over 47 (-115)
Indianapolis Colts -14 (-110) -1200 Under 47 (-105)

Indianapolis (6-1) is currently the number-one seed in the AFC. The Colts look to keep the ball rolling this weekend against the Tennessee Titans (1-6).

Daniel Jones and the Colts are favored by 14 points in this AFC South matchup.

Jones has completed 71% of his passes and has a 10:3 TD-to-INT ratio this season. He is playing better than expected, but the real driving force of the Colts’ offense has been Jonathan Taylor. The sixth-year RB leads the NFL with 697 rushing yards and 11 total TDs.

Taylor has three games with at least three TDs already this season. He is in line for another highly productive day against the Titans. Tennessee gives up 139.6 rushing YPG, the fourth-most in the NFL, and a league-high 12 rushing TDs.

A big day from Taylor is all the Colts need to win and cover the 14-point spread at home this week.

Titans vs. Colts NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Indianapolis Colts -14 (-110)
  • Moneyline Bet: Indianapolis Colts (-1200)
  • Over/Under Bet: Over 47 (-115)

Green Bay Packers vs. Pittsburgh Steelers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Green Bay Packers -3 (-115) -175 Over 44.5 (-110)
Pittsburgh Steelers +3 (-105) +150 Under 44.5 (-110)

This week’s Sunday Night Football matchup pits the Packers (4-1-1) and the Steelers (4-2) in Pittsburgh. In addition to being a Super Bowl 43 rematch, this will be Aaron Rodgers’ first matchup against the Packers since leaving Green Bay in 2023.

Pittsburgh’s defense looked out of sorts last week, giving up 33 points and 342 passing yards in last week’s loss to Cincy. It was the third time this season that the Steelers had allowed 31 or more points.

Green Bay won their Week 7 matchup, but the Packers’ offense struggled to move the ball. Jordan Love had under 180 passing yards, and Josh Jacobs only totaled 55 yards on the ground. Two of the Packers’ three TD drives came on drives that started in plus territory.

Ultimately, this game will come down to which team can pressure the opposing team’s quarterback more consistently. Rodgers is far less mobile at this stage of his career than Love, which will give the Packers an edge.

Packers vs. Steelers NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Green Bay Packers -3 (-115)
  • Moneyline Bet: Green Bay Packers (-175)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 44.5 (-110)

Washington Commanders vs. Kansas City Chiefs Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets

Team Spread Moneyline Total
Washington Commanders +10 (-115) +425 Over 48 (-110)
Kansas City Chiefs -10 (-105) -600 Under 48 (-110)

Rounding out the Week 8 slate is a Monday Night Football matchup between the Commanders (3-4) and the Chiefs (4-3). Jayden Daniels is in danger of missing this game because of a hamstring injury he suffered last week.

With Daniels’ status in doubt, it comes as no surprise that Washington are 10-point road underdogs on MNF.

The Chiefs have won four of their last five games and have scored 28+ points in four straight contests. Washington, on the other hand, has lost three of the last four. The Commanders are also just 1-3 so far on the road this season.

Washington would’ve been underdogs even if Daniels were healthy and under center. With Daniels at best hampered by a hamstring injury and at worst out of the lineup altogether, the Commanders have a very low chance of winning this game or even keeping it close.

Commanders vs. Chiefs NFL Week 8 Best Bets:

  • Points Spread Bet: Kansas City Chiefs (-105)
  • Moneyline Bet: Kansas City Chiefs (-600)
  • Over/Under Bet: Under 48 (-110)
