3. How Long Is the Super Bowl?
The Super Bowl typically lasts 3.5 to 4 hours. It is longer than your average game, which lasts 3 to 3.5 hours, in part because of the festivities involved in the game and the extended halftime.
Here is how long the last 10 Super Bowls have lasted.
| Super Bowl | Total Length |
|---|---|
| Super Bowl 59 (2025) | 3 hours and 36 minutes |
| Super Bowl 58 (2024) | 3 hours and 55 minutes |
| Super Bowl 57 (2023) | 3 hours and 31 minutes |
| Super Bowl 56 (2022) | 3 hours and 26 minutes |
| Super Bowl 55 (2021) | 3 hours and 35 minutes |
| Super Bowl 54 (2020) | 3 hours and 30 minutes |
| Super Bowl 53 (2019) | 3 hours and 32 minutes |
| Super Bowl 52 (2018) | 3 hours and 46 minutes |
| Super Bowl 51 (2017) | 3 hours and 47 minutes |
| Super Bowl 50 (2016) | 3 hours and 43 minutes |
Super Bowl 58, which lasted nearly 75 minutes of game time, is the longest-ever and the second Big Game to go to OT. However, Super Bowl 47 in 2013 had the longest run time, lasting 4 hours and 14 minutes after being delayed more than 30 minutes due to a power outage.
A power outage is unlikely, but OT is always on the table. On the other hand, only two Big Games have gone into extra time. Even with overtime, no Super Bowl has exceeded 4 hours in the last decade.
4. When Will Super Bowl 60 End?
The Super Bowl kicks off at 6:30 PM ET and, assuming it sticks to the 3.5-hour run time, it should end around 10:00 PM ET.
Several factors determine how long the game itself will last. Play calling, penalties, and injuries can all change how long it takes to play four quarters. Also, the length of the halftime show and whether the game goes to overtime can extend the event’s run time.
5. Who Is Performing the Super Bowl Halftime Show?
Bad Bunny is the headliner for the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show. It is the fourth halftime show sponsored by Apple Music, and the previous three have featured multiple special guest performers.

Last year, for instance, SZA, Samuel L. Jackson, Serena Williams, and Mustard all appeared alongside headliner Kendrick Lamar.
If that trend continues, then Bad Bunny will not be the only star taking the stage on Super Bowl Sunday.
Who is performing the Super Bowl 60 Opening Ceremonies?
The festivities for Super Bowl 60 start long before kickoff and run up to it. This year’s pregame ceremonies will feature performances from:
- Opening act: Green Day
- Tailgate headliner: Teddy Swims
- “America the Beautiful”: Brandi Carlile
- “Lift Every Voice and Sing”: Coco Jones
- National Anthem: Charlie Puth
6. What Time Do the Super Bowl 60 Opening Ceremonies Start?
NBC is pulling out all the stops for Super Bowl 60, including pregame coverage starting at 1:00 PM ET, 5.5 hours before kickoff. The official pregame festivities, including the pregame ceremonies performed by Green Day, start at 6:00 PM ET, roughly 30 minutes before kickoff.
7. When Will the Super Bowl 2026 Halftime Show Start?
The Halftime Show, as the name suggests, takes place at halftime. With the Super Bowl set to start at approximately 6:30 PM ET, halftime should start at around 8:00 PM.
However, production needs time to set up for Bad Bunny’s performance. So, expect the actual show to start a few minutes later, around 8:05 PM ET.
8. How Long Will the Super Bowl 60 Opening Ceremonies Last?
With a start time of 6:00 PM, the opening ceremonies only have 30 minutes before the start of the game. That is not much time for Green Day, Charlie Puth, Brandi Carlile, and Coco Jones to perform.
Green Day will kick off Super Bowl LX with a special opening‑ceremony performance on February 8th at Levi’s Stadium in Santa Clara. 9. How Long is the Super Bowl 60 Halftime Show?
The Super Bowl Halftime Show usually lasts around 13-14 minutes. Each halftime show varies, including its run time and the number of songs performed. The addition of special guests can also elongate the show. On the other hand, the concert still has to finish in time for the second half to start.
Here is how long the last 10 Halftime Shows have lasted:
| Super Bowl | Headliner | Total Songs | Length of Performance |
|---|---|---|---|
| Super Bowl 59 (2025) | Kendrick Lamar | 12 | 13 minutes 20 seconds |

10. When Will the Super Bowl 60 MVP Be Announced?
The Super Bowl 60 MVP is awarded after the game, along with the Lombardi trophy. When the game ends, voters have to decide on who they think deserves the award, and the votes must be tallied.
Production also has to set up the stage for the presentation ceremony. With that in mind, the MVP and the Lombardi are usually handed out 15 minutes after the game ends. Assuming the game ends at approximately 10:00 PM ET, the Super Bowl MVP should be handed out around 10:15.
