Reasoning for Each Leg of Our NFL Parlay This Weekend

If you want more info on how we picked each leg of our Week 10 NFL parlay, here’s our reasoning.

  1. Indianapolis dropped the ball in Pittsburgh, losing just their second game of the season. The Colts committed six turnovers, and Daniel Jones was sacked five times.

Danny Dimes and company must put the loss behind them quickly as they take on the Falcons in Germany this weekend. Following the loss, the Colts traded for Sauce Gardner, solidifying their secondary.

Gardner and the Colts are -290 favorites against a Falcons team that has lost three straight games. Atlanta’s failures come despite a great season from Bijan Robinson, who is third in the NFL with 1,058 scrimmage yards.

Indianapolis also have a great RB in Jonathan Taylor, who has racked up 1,113 scrimmage yards this season. He also leads the NFL with 14 TDs and is averaging 99.4 rushing YPG.

A bounce-back week from Taylor is all the Colts should need to take down a Falcons team that has struggled against the run lately.

  2. Speaking of teams that should lean into their running games this week, the Browns are 1.5-point favorites against the Jets this weekend.

Cleveland opened as a road underdog. However, the Jets traded away Sauce Gardner and Quinnen Williams at the trade deadline. Shipping away their two best defenders caused the Jets to fade from favorites to home underdogs on Sunday.

The Browns only average 89.5 rushing YPG, the fifth-fewest in the NFL. However, the Jets give up over 135 YPG on the ground.

Now that Williams is gone, New York will have an even tougher time running the ball. The Browns have a talented collection of running backs, and they should see plenty of carries against a porous Jets’ defensive line.

A run-heavy attack will allow Cleveland to control the game. It will also minimize the work on rookie Dillon Gabriel’s plate and give the Browns a chance to cover -1.5 on the road.

  3. The hype train for this week’s Jaguars vs. Texans matchup was derailed when C.J. Stroud was ruled out with a concussion. Stroud’s absence also shifted the line in favor of Jacksonville.

Both teams need a win to have any chance of running down the Colts for the division title. This game is especially important for Houston, which is trying to avoid a 3-6 start. Unfortunately, with Stroud out, the Texans are unlikely to pull off an upset against a motivated Jaguars team.

Houston’s offense has been terrible this season, and its inability to score points has cost the Texans multiple wins this year. Now that Stroud is out, Houston’s offense could be even worse.

Jacksonville, on the other hand, have one of the most opportunistic defenses in the league. They have 15 takeaways so far and should harass Davis Mills into at least a couple of turnovers on Sunday. The Jaguars’ defense should be enough for them to cover -1 against Houston on Sunday.

  4. Washington have lost three straight games by at least 21 points. To make matters worse, the Commanders could be without Jayden Daniels for the remainder of the year after the reigning ROTY dislocated his elbow last week.

Detroit, conversely, are averaging 29.9 PPG this season. Despite their explosive offense, the Lions lost last week, their second loss in their last three games.

The Lions are desperate for a win, and the Commanders are riddled with injuries. So, it is not surprising that Detroit are favored by 8 points this week.

The Lions are disappointed with how last week’s game against the Vikings played out. Washington is the perfect punching bag for Detroit to work out its frustrations against.
