NBA Squares Online Guide With Top Sites

NBA squares is an entertaining game that works for players of all experience levels. It’s great for office pools, challenging friends, or making any NBA watch party significantly more exciting.

You can also play on the internet, since some of the best NBA betting sites offer NBA squares. Keep reading this article if you want to learn how to play the game and what’s the top sportsbook for NBA squares online.

How To Play NBA Squares?

The process for betting on NBA squares is as easy as it gets. The game comes with a large grid with squares that include numbers from 0 to 9. The 10 digits are available for both teams, and the squares are arranged in a 10×10 grid. This means there are 100 possible outcomes.

You simply need to buy a square for real money (or simply pick, if it’s a free game) to participate. The number in each square represents the final digits of the winning team’s and losing team’s scores. The first number in the square is assigned to the winner, and the second number is for the losing team.

For example, you pick a square with the number 3 for the winner and number 4 for the loser, meaning their scores should end on 3 and 4, respectively, for you to win. An example of a result that would bring you the victory is 113-104.

If someone else has already picked a square, then you cannot choose it. In theory, every square has the same odds, 1-in-100, of being the correct pick.

Depending on the NBA squares game you are playing, the numbers on the grid could apply to the whole game, a half, or simply a quarter. Most games use the same grid for all three, so if you are lucky, you could win three times from the same square!

Is There Strategy In NBA Squares?

One of the reasons NBA squares games are so easy to play is that there is very little, if any, strategy involved. Baskets are worth one, two, or three points, so no numbers are more likely than others. This is in stark contrast to Super Bowl squares betting, where numbers like one, seven, four, and zero are highly coveted.

That does not mean you cannot use a method to pick your numbers. Some common approaches include using your lucky numbers, researching previous games, or simply picking numbers at random.

You can’t really impact your chances of winning too much, but the NBA squares game is mostly about having fun anyway.

Top Site For NBA Squares Online – BetUS

You can find a variation of the NBA squares game available at multiple basketball betting sites. I’ve tried different options, but the BetUS Sportsbook’s version is my favorite and I strongly encourage you to try it.

Let’s see how it works, step by step.

BetUS allows you to bet on NBA squares for any game during the season or playoffs. The first thing you need to do is create your account and deposit. Then, go to the main navigation bar, use the “More” dropdown and click on Contests, as shown in the screenshot below.

Once you get there, look for the Featured Contests box on the left, where the Squares contests are usually available.

This will open the list of available games, that always includes the NBA during the regular season and the playoffs. There might be NFL or college basketball games available, so you don’t have to limit yourself to the NBA.

For each game, there are betting squares with an entry fee of $1, $3, and $5. The higher the entry, the higher the prizes, so pick the level you’re comfortable with. Choose the specific NBA game you want to bet on, and then click the grid for the stake amount you want to play.

The number of games you will have available will depend on the upcoming NBA schedule. The squares usually appear on the day of the match, so keep that in mind.

The next step to betting on NBA square games at BetUS is to pick the square or squares that you want to wager on. The home team is on the x-axis, and the away team is on the y-axis.

You can see the squares that other bettors have already wagered on. Everything else is up for grabs.

BetUS does not limit the number of squares you can wager on. The only limits are the number of squares still available and the amount you are willing to risk.

After you purchase your squares, simply enjoy the game and wait for the results. As long as 35 squares are purchased, the contest will run as normal. BetUS will keep the results up to 24 hours after the game so you can see who won the squares game.

One of the reasons I recommend BetUS for squares is the prize pool distribution. Four players earn awards as follows:

  • 1st quarter winner: 12.5% of the prize pool
  • Halftime winner: 25% of the prize pool
  • 3rd quarter winner: 12.5% of the prize pool
  • Final score winner: 50% of the prize pool

The prize pool consists of 90% of the money wagered on that squares game. BetUS collects the remaining 10%.

The payout for each of the four quarters is at the top of the grid. As more players purchase squares, the prize amount for each section will increase accordingly. Once you purchase squares, you will not be refunded unless the 35-square minimum is not met.

Also, if the winning square wasn’t purchased, the prize money is added to the next quarter or half. When you win, your prize money will be credited directly into your BetUS account, with no rollover or other terms, so you can instantly withdraw it or use it for betting.

If that sounds appealing, I should add that BetUS has a huge 100% welcome bonus of up to $2,500 (even bigger for crypto) available to new users, giving you another reason to try the sportsbook.

Welcome Bonus 100% up to $2,500
  • Big Welcome Bonus up to $3,125
  • Accepts US Players
  • Fast Payouts Within 48 Hours
