Does Bigfoot really exist, or is it all an urban legend? Is there any chance of the mystical creature ever being found? We are examining the latest betting odds that Bigfoot exists and making some wacky predictions on whether Sasquatch will be discovered.
Online bookmakers have released intriguing Bigfoot prop bets on the prospect of finding the elusive creature, so let’s dive in below to see different perspectives!
Odds That Bigfoot Exists: What the Bookies Think
The following Bigfoot betting odds are courtesy of BetUS:
PROP BET | ODDS |
---|---|
Bigfoot to Be Found in the US | -225 |
Bigfoot to Be Found in Canada | +150 |
Bigfoot to Be Found in 2025 | +30000 |
The best entertainment betting sites have released a number of betting markets on the discovery of Bigfoot. Currently, BetUS has three prop bets available, which give bettors an opportunity to cash in on Sasquatch’s whereabouts!
According to the latest odds of finding Bigfoot, the species is most likely to be found in the United States. With a price of -225, there is a 69.2% implied probability of Bigfoot being found on US land.
Despite Canada having a large landmass, the odds of Bigfoot existing in Canada isn’t as high at +150. In other words, BetUS has tabbed Canada as having a 40% implied chance of finding Bigfoot.
In addition to having a larger landmass, Canada has 9% of the world’s forests (362 million hectares), while the US has 8% (304 million hectares) coverage. If Bigfoot exists, the creatures are more likely to be hanging out in the forest, far away from human civilization.
Although the North American Bigfoot Center is in Boring, OR, the best value is on Bigfoot being found in Canada’s Pacific Northwest! It’s highly unlikely the creature would be setting up its home near any national center dedicated to itself.
With this in mind, if you are interested in betting on this unique Bigfoot prop bet, I recommend Canada at +150.
As an aside, at +30000 odds, there is just a 0.3% implied probability of Bigfoot being discovered in 2025. While a lot of crazy events have been happening around the world, I’m not optimistic about humans finding Bigfoot in 2025.

Odds of Bigfoot Being Real According to Science
In 1811, the first evidence of Bigfoot possibly existing was reported by Hudson Bay Company surveyor, trader, and one of the most respected North American explorers of the 1700s and 1800s, David Thompson.
He found four large footprints in the snow that didn’t resemble anything human while searching for a waterway near where present-day Jasper, AB, is today. Thompson’s First Nations partners claimed it had to be a mammoth, but he believed otherwise.
Since then, there have been countless reports of large Sasquatch footprints and actual sightings of the creature. Nearly a century after Thompson’s report, in the late 1800s and early 1900s, North American settlers reported seeing a Bigfoot-like creature on multiple occasions.
Perhaps the most shocking documentation was in 1967. The infamous Roger Patterson footage was recorded in Bluff Creek, California, on Oct. 20, 1967. The film shows a Bigfoot-like creature walking fast on the beach away from the camera. Real or is it a person wearing a gorilla costume duping viewers?
Modern science has overwhelmingly denied the existence of Bigfoot. In 2014, researchers published results of the first genetic analysis of hairs that explorers claimed to be from Bigfoot across six states and six countries, including Russia, India, Indonesia, Nepal, and Bhutan.
All 30 hair samples were from a mammal, which ranged from horses, cows, raccoons, polar bears, black bears, sheep, dogs, coyotes, and even a human. The results of the study disproved the existence of this sample of DNA. Moreover, in 2019, the FBI revealed its findings dating back to a 1976 file.
The hair specimen was forwarded to the FBI for examination, and its findings: deer hair. Of course, detractors will argue that the FBI would never admit that Bigfoot exists, but according to the investigation, there is no concrete evidence of the creature’s existence.
Is Roger Patterson’s Bigfoot Footage Real?
So, what about the 1967 footage filmed by Patterson in Bluff Creek? Although there is no definite explanation, it’s widely viewed as a hoax — the film reportedly is an acquaintance of Patterson, Bob Heironimus, in a realistic suit.
Approached by Bob Gimlin at the request of Patterson, Heironimus claims that the entire thing was fake and created for monetary benefits. He also noted that the suit was made of synthetic leather, bits of fur, and a horse’s hide.
“It was in July or August of 1967. Gimlin told me that Roger was going to make a film, and they needed someone to wear a suit.” Heironimus was twenty-six at the time and says he “thought nothing of it.” From his perspective, it was just a way to make some quick and easy money.”
Patterson was a filmmaker riding his horse alongside Gimlin, coincidentally enough, looking for Bigfoot, when they allegedly came across the hairy creature. Nevertheless, many believers of Sasquatch believe Patterson and conclude that Heironimus is lying about his involvement.
Patterson died of cancer in 1972, but Gimlin continues to maintain that the recording and story of Bigfoot filming is true.
What Does the Public Think About Bigfoot’s Odds of Existing?
There is a segment of the popular who adamantly believe that Bigfoot is real. In particular, you can find online message boards dedicated to proving that the legend of Bigfoot is a real phenomenon.
For instance, r/Bigfoot has daily discussions, including theories and reports.
However, for the greater public at large, no, the odds that Bigfoot exists are incredibly long! That doesn’t mean more people aren’t starting to believe, though. According to a survey by CivicScience, surveyed adults aged 18+ in the U.S reported that 11% of respondents believed in Bigfoot in 2020.
Only two years later, the percentage of people accepting Bigfoot’s existence rose to 13% — or an 18% increase! The Western region of the United States, where the Bigfoot species is believed to live, was more likely to believe in its existence.
15% of the West voted in favor of Bigfoot being real, while conversely, the Northeast were the biggest skeptics at 11%. Additionally, respondents who lived in rural areas were larger believers with 14% voting ‘yes’ as opposed to 13% voting ‘no’ in urban locations.
Lastly, the 35 to 54 aged cohort voted more favorably to Bigfoot’s existence at 15% in 2022. Both the 18 to 34 and 35 to 54 aged voters increased by 3% from 2020 to 2022. In the case of 18 to 34 year olds, they witnessed a jump to 14% from 11% in two years.
The oldest demographic, 55 and older, is the least convinced, as they moved up just 1% from 10% to 11%.
Is Bigfoot Real?
There is no tangible or circumstantial proof of Bigfoot’s existence. In short, the odds of Bigfoot being real are incredibly steep. No video of Bigfoot or images of Bigfoot have been released that 100% prove the creature’s existence on Earth.
Additionally, any suspicious hair specimens believed to possibly be Bigfoot at first have been disproved. At +30000 odds, according to BetUS, there is a 0.3% chance of Bigfoot being found in 2025. I would put this closer to 0%.
Although I approach conspiracy theories with an open mind, Bigfoot’s existence isn’t plausible, in my opinion. The first report of the mythical creature was from Thompson’s journal in 1811. If Bigfoot were real, you would think by now there would be more concrete proof.
In addition to the lack of video or photographs of a living Bigfoot, there hasn’t been a dead carcass, traces from hair, skin, fingernails, or any DNA of a Sasquatch documented. The way I see it, there must be more data available to confidently claim Bigfoot is truly real.
Despite not being confident about the odds of Bigfoot existing, I might have a different perspective about aliens being real! Check this one if you think we’re not alone.
