Norwegian athletes made plenty of appearances on the medal podium for the biathlon events in 2022. They won gold in six of the 11 events, claiming 14 medals overall. The next closest was France with three golds, followed by Sweden and Germany, which both claimed one.

Despite their dominance in 2022, Norwegian athletes are not heavy favorites to win gold this year at the top Olympic betting sites. For instance, Italy’s Tommaso Giacomel is a +375 favorite to win gold in the Men’s 10K sprint in front of the home crowd.

French athletes, including Éric Perrot and Lou Jeanmonnot, are favored the most by oddsmakers in 2026. Perrot is the +300 favorite in the Men’s 12.5K Pursuit, while Jeanmonnot is the +300 and +350 favorite in the Women’s 10K Pursuit and Women’s 15K Individual, respectively.

France is also favored in the Men’s, Women’s, and Mixed relay events. View updated odds for the biathlon races by going to BetUS and navigating to Sports > Olympics > Olympics Futures > Winter Olympics Outrights > Biathlon..

Women’s 7.5K Sprint Odds and Prediction

Athlete Odds
Elvira Öberg (SWE) +500
Lou Jeanmonnot (FRA) +500
Hanna Öberg (SWE) +550
Justine Braisaz-Bouchet (FRA) +650
Suvi Minkkinen (FIN) +700
Lisa Vittozzi (ITA) +700

Sweden’s Elvira Öberg is the 5-1 co-favorite to win the Women’s 7.5K Sprint at the 2026 Winter Olympics. Öberg is tied with France’s Lou Jeanmonnot.

In 2022, Öberg won silver in this event, finishing +30.9 seconds behind Norway’s Marte Olsbu Røiseland, who is now retired. Jeanmonnot, on the other hand, is making her Olympic debut after racking up seven total medals, including four gold, at the 2024 and 2025 Biathlon World Championships.

Elvira’s older sister Hanna Öberg rounds out the top three at +550 odds. Hanna has three Olympic medals to her name, including golds in the Individual (2018) and Relay (2022), but has never placed better than seventh in the Sprint.

The Öberg sisters are tough competition, but Jeanmonnot is one of the fastest rising stars in Women’s Biathlon. Most of her gold medals have come in relay events, but the 2026 Winter Olympics could be her chance to break out as an individual competitor.

She has enough experience now, so I’m happy take the +500 available for the French rising star.

Mixed 4X6K Mixed Relay Odds and Prediction

Team Odds
France +200
Sweden +225
Italy +250
Norway +400
Germany +1400
Czechia +5000

Norway are the reigning Olympic Biathlon Mixed Relay champion. They earned gold in 2022, beating France by just 0.9 seconds. The Russian Olympic Committee (ROC) was a close third, finishing +1.5 behind Norway.

All four members of Norway’s gold medal relay team from 2022 have since retired. So, it is not surprising that the defending champions are listed at +400, the fourth-best odds, to defend its Olympic title.

France, on the other hand, are the 2-1 favorite, followed closely by Sweden (+225) and Italy (+250). Julia Simon and Émilien Jacquelin are returning from France’s silver medal team in 2022. They will be joined by Lou Jeanmonnot and Éric Perrot.

This combination won gold for France in the Mixed Relay at the 2025 Biathlon World Championships in Switzerland. It was one of six gold medals won by the French at the event. Given their dominance at the recent World Championships, it is hard to see anyone stopping France in the Mixed Relay this year.

I expected odds closer to +150, making the current price on of the best biathlon bets for the Milano Olympics.
