Matt Weston is the clear odds-on favorite to win gold in men’s skeleton. Priced at -250, he carries a 71.4% implied probability of standing on top of the podium. Expectations are that he sets the pace, with fellow Brit Marcus Wyatt projected as the most likely silver medalist.
It will likely take a major error from Weston for him to miss out on gold. The 28-year-old has become a dominant force in the sport, completely transforming his fortunes since a 15th-place finish at Beijing 2022. He used that setback as fuel and has since climbed to the very peak of men’s skeleton.
Weston’s accolades back up the market’s confidence. He captured World Championship gold in both 2023 and 2025, is a three-time overall World Cup champion, and added European Championship titles in 2023 and 2026.

Most recently, Weston secured another overall World Cup crown in Altenberg. Wyatt won the final race by 0.18 seconds, but he fell well short in the points chase. With the overall title effectively wrapped up, Weston had no need to fully extend himself, so it’s reasonable to believe he still had more in reserve.

Jacqueline Pfeifer and Kim Meylemans are set for an epic battle at the Cortina Sliding Centre. The two have traded blows all season, with the Belgian slider ultimately clinching the first overall World Cup title in her country’s history.
Pfeifer had the last word in the regular season, grabbing the outright win in the final event in Altenberg. Meylemans, however, did exactly what she needed to do: a third-place finish there marked her sixth podium in seven races and was enough to lock up her maiden World Cup crown.
Her form extends beyond the World Cup as well. Meylemans is coming off a gold medal at the 2026 European Championships, her second straight continental title after winning in 2024. It’s been a great stretch for Meylemans after she had to go into quarantine in a government facility at Beijing 2022 after testing positive for COVID-19.

Both Pfeifer and Meylemans arrive in Cortina in tremendous form and figure to separate themselves from the rest of the field. The battle for gold should come down to razor-thin margins, where even a minor mistake could be decisive. In a matchup this tight, Meylemans’ value at +225 to win gold stands out.
