Joe Hunter (+140) has taken his spot back at the top of the Survivor Season 48 odds! After regressing to the fifth-best price to win in recent weeks, Joe has skyrocketed back to the top of the board at entertainment betting sites.

Last week, Hunter had +650 odds to win Survivor 48, or an implied probability of 13.3%. Following the ninth week of competition, Joe has improved significantly to a 41.7% implied chance to win this season!

Meanwhile, Kyle Fraser (+320), the top favorite for the last few weeks, has fallen out of favor with bettors. With the third-best price, Fraser holds a 23.8% probability of being the sole survivor now. It remains a wide-open race in Fiji, so let’s see how things play out in the remaining episodes.

Survivor 48 Predictions and Betting Pick After Episode 9

There were cracks in the most prominent alliance on the island this week! The majority alliance on Survivor 48 suffered a blow after members started turning on one another.

In a six-member alliance, castaways are inevitably going to turn on each other at this point in the game. There are too few players left in Fiji, so they are going to have to make important decisions, which resulted in the turning point of Survivor 48.

The alliance consisted of David Kinne, Mary Zheng, Eva Erickson, Shauhin Davari, Joe, and Kyle. However, that alliance is fractured following David’s exit. Joe and David battled in the immunity challenge to the end, though David ultimately conceded the win.

In a brutal physical test, players were required to stand on a platform, holding onto a bar, while holding a ball in a metal chute. Joe collected the win and selected Eva, Shauhin, and Mitch Guerra to join him for the reward, which included fresh food.

Shauhin and Mitch had never been on a reward trip and were low on food, so Joe selected them. That’s an important move from Joe, who will need votes from the jury if he reaches the final episode. I doubt Shauhin and Mitch will forget Joe stepping up for them.

At the tribal council, David was the outsider looking in at this alliance. He was blindsided and sent home in a vote that went down to the wire against Mitch. He was the pre-season favorite to win Survivor 48 but is running on fumes despite being saved this week.

For my pre-season Survivor 48 winner pick, I backed Joe at +1000 odds. Following the first episode, his price jumped to the top, but regressed to +650 in recent weeks. I’ve remained steadfast in my support of Joe regardless of the odds, and I’m going to stay the course! In short, I suggest betting on Joe for your Survivor winner prediction at +140!

Survivor 48 Tribes and Contestants

Survivor 48 consists of the Civa, Lagi, and Vula Tribe. Now, let’s learn more about the three tribes and castaways on each side.

But, first, when does Survivor start? On Wednesday, February 26, 2025, Survivor 48 debuts at 8:00 p.m. ET on CBS and Paramount+.

Lagi Tribe

Lagi features a few contenders that could win the game in Fiji. According to the latest 2025 Survivor betting odds at BetUS, Star Toomey, Thomas Krottinger, and Hunter should be in the mix.

Lagi Tribe Members:

    • Bianca Roses, 33, strategic PR consultant (Arlington, VA)
    • Eva Erickson, 24, engineering grad student (Providence, RI)
    • Joe Hunter, 45, fire captain (Sacramento, CA)
    • Shauhin Davari, 38, debate professor (Costa Mesa, CA)
    • Star Toomey, 28, sales (Augusta, GA)
    • Thomas Krottinger, 34, music producer (Los Angeles, CA)

Civa Tribe

Guerra is on Civa, so they have the pre-game betting favorite to win Survivor 48! Whether this results in winning the game remains to be seen, but Guerra should be a weapon for the Civa Tribe. Kimma Karthigesu is also worth watching out for this season.

Civa Tribe Members:

    • Charity Nelms, 34, flight attendant (St. Petersburg, FL)
    • Chrissy Sarnowsky, 55, firefighter (Chicago, IL)
    • David Kinne, 39, stunt artist (Buena Park, CA)
    • Kamilla Karthigesu, 31, discord engineer (San Francisco, CA)
    • Kyle Fraser, 31, attorney (Brooklyn, NY)
    • Mitch Guerra, 34, teacher (Waco, TX)

Vula Tribe

Berger is expected to be the powerhouse of the Vula Tribe. With the second-shortest odds to win Survivor 48, the betting markets are expecting positives from her. Additionally, Saiounia Hughley, Kevin Leung, and Mary Zheng are among the favorites, so this should be a formidable tribe.

Vula Tribe Members:

    • Cedrek McFadden, 45, surgeon (Greenville, SC)
    • Justin Pioppi, 29, restaurant manager (Winthrop, MA)
    • Kevin Leung, 34, finance manager (Livermore, CA)
    • Mary Zheng, 31, substance abuse counselor (Philadelphia, PA)
    • Saiounia Hughley, 30, marketing specialist (Simi Valley, CA)
    • Stephanie Berger, 38, tech product specialist (Brooklyn, NY)
