Kenzie Petty’s Survivor 46 odds to win grew larger following episode 8. Currently, Petty is a -300 favorite to win this season’s Survivor. At -300, she has an implied probability of 75% to be the last castaway standing, if you trust the bookies!
According to the betting lines, the 29-year-old native of North Carolina is firmly in the driver’s seat. Following episode 7, Petty had -150 odds for an implied chance of 60%, so in one week, her chances of winning rose by 15%.
The other castaway’s odds didn’t witness significant movement. Tiffany Nicole Ervin, who has the second-shortest odds, remained at +280. Maria Shrime Gonzalez’s price regressed slightly from +400 to +500, but nothing happened this week to suggest she’s any worse off than before.
Ben Katzman has the worst odds to win Survivor Season 46. He wasn’t considered as a player who could receive the boot this past week, but Katzman has an implied probability of just 4.3%.
Survivor Episode 8 Recap and Updated Betting Pick
The eighth episode of Survivor 46 started with the castaways having a friendly game of hide ‘n seek on the island. There was nothing at stake, with the players simply looking to have fun on the 15th day in Fiji.
However, the mood changed shortly after with the immunity challenge. Before the game began, contestants had the option of withdrawing themselves from the game in extra for rice. Despite no chance of gaining immunity, they would have an opportunity to eat fresh food.
Four people had to voluntarily exit the contest to get the rice, however. With Liz Wilcox and Q Burdette interested in eating, they were quick to remove themselves from the game, but no one else followed. Wilcox and Burdette ultimately played in the immunity challenge, though they lasted less than 20 seconds.
The immunity challenge machine, Hunter McKnight, picked up another win. Castaways had to clinch to a tall post for as long as they could without touching the ground. McKnight cruised to a win, probably being able to go for much longer.
Back at camp, there was disagreement between castaways about who should be the target for the week. With Wilcox ascertaining that Tevin Davis was behind Soda Thompson’s blindside the week earlier, she wanted Davis gone.
However, Ervin was also a popular name floated around for removal, too. Burdette was the ringleader behind pushing Ervin out of the game, but that fell through, and Davis was voted out at Tribal Council.
This was after Burdette asked his fellow tribe mates to vote himself out. It was a random and bizarre moment at Tribal Council, with Burdette claiming he deserved it. After a brief discussion among the castaways, the former Ole Miss football player didn’t receive one vote.
For my updated Survivor 46 predictions, Petty is the clear player to beat in Fiji this season. However, she does not have any value at -300. Davis, who was the pre-season favorite to win, didn’t even reach the top 5, so betting on the favorite isn’t a guarantee on Survivor.
Gonzalez and McKnight did nothing to hurt their chances this past week. The latter continues to maul his rivals in challenges, while Gonzalez is one of the most well-liked players among competitors. I have her down as my top Survivor 46 pick following episode 8, while McKnight is a solid value bet to win at +800.
