Las Vegas Aces (+190) vs. New York Aces

The Aces (9-9) were embarrassed 81-54 in Indiana on July 3, but bounced back three days later with an 86-68 win over Connecticut on the road.

Head coach Becky Hammon replaced Kiah Stokes in the starting lineup with NaLyssa Smith, who had 11 points and 10 boards. A’ja Wilson led the way with 19 points, while Chelsea Gray had eight assists, passing Hammon for sixth on the WNBA all-time assists list.

Hammon called out her team for a lack of professionalism against Indiana. While Connecticut is the worst team in the league, Las Vegas still had to take care of business. They’ll need that same mindset tonight in the “Big Apple”!

The Liberty (12-6) fell 79-70 at home to Seattle on July 6 for their fifth loss in seven games. Sabrina Ionescu had 22 points, nine rebounds, and seven assists, but Breanna Stewart had an awful night. The two-time MVP had eight points, shooting 4-of-17 from the field, with six boards and three assists. She did have three blocks, but Stewart didn’t get to the free-throw line once.

New York has struggled mightily without Jonquel Jones, which is when this recent skid started. Jones won’t be back until after the All-Star break because of her ailing ankle. The former MVP in 2021 and Finals MVP last season when New York won the title has seen her stock rise while injured.

The Liberty are 10th in offensive and defensive rating in seven games since Jones has been out. She is so good that even though she has only played nine of 18 games this season, Jones might have a legitimate complaint about being snubbed from the All-Star Game.

The two have played just once this season, back in the season opener on May 17 as New York won 92-78 at home. Both teams are in the top four of the WNBA championship odds, and have both won titles recently.

But they’ve also been wildly inconsistent in 2025. The ATS (against the spread) standings have New York at 3-3-1 ATS at home, while Las Vegas is 4-4 ATS on the road.

Therefore, I’m taking the value and banking on Las Vegas on the road at +190! The New York defense is terrible without Jones, and the Vegas offense, when they move the ball, can dissect anyone.

The Liberty need someone besides Ionescu and Stewart to step up on either end of the floor. But I’m leaning on a big game from Wilson and Smith as the Aces should have the edge in the paint. Let’s take the underdogs for the road win and bet on Las Vegas at +190!
