The best Olympic betting sites have a variety of disciplines and Switzerland’s Marco Odermatt is at the top in several. The 28-year-old is favored in two events and second-best odds to win the men’s downhill competition.

Team USA’s Mikaela Shiffrin is the largest favorite to win her event, though. At -325, Shiffrin has a 76.5% implied probability of winning the women’s salmon. With such steep odds to win the gold, I am not going to include her for top bets, though. Read on to find my best wagers below.

Men’s Olympic Giant Slalom Odds and Prediction

ATHLETE ODDS
Marco Odermatt (SUI) +165
Loic Meillard (SUI) +400
Lucas Pinheiro Braathen (BRA) +500
Marco Schwarz (AUT) +1100
Timon Haugan (NOR) +1400
Stefan Brennsteiner (AUT) +1400
Atle Lie McGrath (NOR) +1600

Odermatt is favored over Swiss teammate Louc Meillard for the giant slalom gold medal at Milano 2026. Regarded as the most complete skier in Italy for the Winter Games, Odermatt is the one the rest of the field has to beat.

He is approaching the same elite level as Hermann Maier in terms of dominance, and I think Odermatt solidifies his standing as one of the greatest of all time. Last month, Odermatt won his fifth consecutive giant slalom title in Adelboden. He became the first skier ever to win five Giant Slalom World Cup titles at Adelboden in Switzerland.

In tough conditions in the snow and wind, Odermatt handled the conditions beautifully. With 1,385 points, Odermatt leads the World Rankings by a considerable distance. Brazil’s Lucas Pinheiro Braathen is in second with 798 points, so it isn’t particularly close after winning the 2024-25 Giant Slalom World Cup Globe last year.

As well as his recent dominance, the 28-year-old is the defending Olympic giant slalom champion from Beijing 2022. That gold was the first of what many expect to be a long list of Olympic medals in his career, and there’s every reason to believe he can defend his crown in Milano-Cortina.

At +165, Odermatt is one of the best 2026 Olympic alpine skiing betting picks on the board.

Men’s Olympic Super-G Odds and Prediction

ATHLETE ODDS
Marco Odermatt (SUI) +165
Franjo Von Allmen (SUI) +400
GIovanni Franzoni (ITA) +800
Vincent Kriechmayr (AUT) +900
Raphael Haaser (AUT) +1000
Alexis Monney (SUI) +1200
Dominik Paris (ITA) +1400

Marco Odermatt isn’t expected to dominate only in the giant slalom. He also comes into Milano 2026 as a leading contender, and the betting favorite, to win gold in the men’s Super-G. If he wants to etch his name into Olympic alpine skiing lore, winning at least two gold medals in Milan should be enough to do it.

Odermatt is in top form coming off a Super-G win in Kitzbühel, where he earned 100 World Cup points. Historically, he elevates his performance ahead of major events, and his Super-G ability has improved to the point where he’s now as dangerous there as in giant slalom.

With defending Olympic Super-G champion Matthias Mayer retired and Odermatt now a legitimate force in the discipline, he profiles as a serious gold medal threat in both giant slalom and Super-G. If he wins gold in either event, you’re positioned to profit, yet I believe he has the ability to sweep both.

With that in mind, I recommend backing Odermatt to win gold in the men’s Super-G as well.

Women’s Olympic Giant Slalom Odds and Prediction

ATHLETE ODDS
Julia Scheib (AUT) +165
Camille Rast (SUI) +500
Federica Brignone (ITA) +550
Sara Hector (SWE) +600
Mikaela Shiffrin (USA) +900
Alice Robinson (NZL) +900

Team Austria’s Julia Scheib is in a strong position to win her first Olympic gold medal at Milano 2026. She is regarded as one of the top alpine athletes heading to Milano for the Olympic Games and should find success against this competition.

Scheib is coming off her fourth giant slalom victory of the season. It was a dominant performance, as she finished 0.37 seconds ahead of Camille Rast and 0.46 seconds clear of defending Olympic champion Sara Hector. After entering the year without a single World Cup win, she’s now piled up four in one season and arrives in Milano as the woman to beat.

Italian skier Federica Brignone is the big unknown in this race. She is the World Cup champion from a season ago and has been on the sidelines this season while rehabbing from a serious leg injury in April 2025. How much can Brignone be ready for the Olympics on home soil? It was a devastating injury that didn’t have an easy road back to the slopes.

Nevertheless, expect Brignone to be well-prepared and to push Scheib hard in Italy. She could defy expectations, but will likely come up just short against the red-hot Scheib. Even so, a trip to the podium would be an accomplishment in itself for Brignone.

In her sizzling form, Scheib stands out as the top pick to win the women’s Olympic giant slalom. At +165, she offers solid value as one of the best Milano 2026 alpine skiing bets.
