Best Bets for the Champions League Today, January 28 (With Reasoning)

Here are the detailed versions of my UCL best bets for today, January 28.

Arsenal vs. Kairat: Under 4.25 Goals (+102)

This game is almost pointless for the final UCL standings, as Arsenal are guaranteed a top 2 spot, while Kairat are already out of the competition. I don’t normally bet on such matches, but I see a few good reasons to target this one.

For a start, Kairat will be eager to finish the competition with a somewhat respectable result. No one expects them to take anything from this clash against Arsenal, but at least keeping it somewhat close is a realistic target.

More importantly, I expect a very weakened Arsenal side for this one. The Gunners have only taken two points from their last three Premier League games, so they desperately need to get back on winning ways in a tricky game against Leeds on Saturday.

With the Champions League top 2 spot secured, Mikel Arteta will rotate heavily and likely won’t spend much time preparing for this game. Even with the bare minimum, the team should be able to secure a victory.

As a result, I expect Kairat to defend deep, with Arsenal controlling the ball and not pushing too hard for the most part. Something like 2/3:0 for the home side is my prediction for this one, so getting plus odds for under 4.25 goals is one of the best Champions League picks today.

Barcelona vs. Copenhagen: Barcelona and Both Teams to Score (+127)

This one should be a goal fest, as both Barcelona and Copenhagen heavily rely on their attack and struggle defensively.

The Spanish side has scored 18 and conceded 13 goals in seven UCL games so far, for an average of over 4.5 goals per game. Copenhagen’s numbers are not far off, with 11 goals scored and 17 conceded for an average of 4 per game.

Furthermore, both sides have something to play for in this final match of the group stage. Barcelona need to win to avoid the playoffs and qualify directly for the last 16, while Copenhagen could still qualify for the next stage with a victory. Even a draw could be enough for the Danes if other results go their way.

The context around the fixture and the style of both sides suggest we’ll see a shootout. Barcelona will likely win comfortably at the end, but I can see both sides scoring. There were multiple angles to target here, but the +127 available for Barcelona to win and both sides to score looks like the best bet available.

If you feel really adventurous, you can try a small wager on both teams to score in both halves at +950. It’s a longshot, but the odds are too high to ignore.
