Here are the detailed versions of my UCL best bets for today, April 7.

Sporting vs. Arsenal: Sporting +0.5 (+100)

People label Arsenal as “bottlers” after the team suffered two domestic cup exits recently, but I don’t think that’s completely fair. The Gunners have struggled with a shocking number of injuries in the last couple of seasons.

Almost no one is talking about it because the club build a very large squad in the summer, but it’s really hard for Arteta to find any consistency. He has to play today without Eze, Merino, Timber, and Saka, with a number of other players not fully fit and in doubt for the match.

The long injury list is taking its toll on performances, so I expect another tough game today. Arsenal should be better with Rice and Zubimendi back in the middle, but their attack has been very inconsistent.

Sporting can certainly take advantage of the opposition’s problems. The Portuguese side finished seventh in the UCL group stage, allowing only six goals. The Lions are especially good at home, so they know they need a result today to keep their chances to progress alive.

It should be a close game, so getting even odds for the hosts to avoid defeat is one of the best Champions League betting picks today.

Real Madrid vs. Bayern Munich: Both Teams to Score in the 2nd Half (+106)

Bayern Munich enter the clash against Real Madrid as big favorites to progress. The Germans have looked like a well-oiled machine this season, leading the Bundesliga comfortably and scoring for fun. They have delivered 100 goals in 28 Bundesliga games alone.

That’s bad news for a Real Madrid side that will be without Courtois. The Spanish giants have been vulnerable all season long even with their goalkeeper available, so I expect problems against Bayern.

On the bright side, Real can rely on all of their attacking players for this one, so they can hit back. The bookies have identified the potential for many goals, so backing both teams to simply score is available at the abysmal odds of -330.

Instead, I prefer to take the same market for the second half only. This is a quarterfinal clash, so I don’t think the two teams will take big risks early on. There should be some patience at the start of the first half, but as soon as a goal goes in, we could see a massacre.

That’s why backing both teams to score after the internal is the smart play here at plus odds.
