Free Champions League Predictions Today, April 8 (With Reasoning)
Here are the detailed versions of my UCL best bets for today, April 8.
PSG vs. Liverpool: PSG and Both Teams to Score (+200)
Liverpool enter this game after a demoralizing FA Cup semifinal defeat against Man City that sums up their season. The Reds created some chances and looked dangerous at times, but their defense was abysmal and the team as a whole capitulated after conceding the first goal.
It doesn’t look good when your captain says that the team gave up, but it certainly looked like it on Saturday. I’m not sure if Liverpool can mount a response against PSG either, as the French side is looking better and better as the season progresses.
PSG now have a firm grip on Ligue 1, leading by four points with a game in hand, so the Champions League will be the priority. The reigning champions scored a combined 13 goals in the previous two rounds of the competitions against Chelsea and Monaco, so the attack is working well.
I expect them to punish Liverpool as well, especially at home. Backing PSG at -133 to simply win is fine, but I like another bet more. A home victory and both teams to score is available for the very juicy price of +200.
Given that PSG allowed six goals against Chelsea and Monaco, I expect Liverpool to have some chances. Despite their struggles, the Reds still have players capable of creating opportunities and taking them.
It should be a goal fest tonight, and I won’t be shocked if we see something similar to the 5-2 PSG win against Chelsea.
Barcelona vs. Atletico Madrid: Under 4.5 Cards (+110)
Barcelona and Atletico Madrid already met three times in domestic competitions in 2026, with all games delivering plenty of action. There’s a bit of a beef developing between the teams, which has resulted in 20 yellow and 2 red cards across the three fixtures in question.
The last one was on Saturday, and we saw 8 yellow cards and a red. If you want to follow the trend, backing over 4.5 cards makes the most sense today. However, that approach is ignoring a very important factor: potential suspensions for the critical second leg.
The list of players who could miss the decisive match next week is almost endless:
- Barcelona: Marc Casado, Fermin Lopez, Gerard Martin, Lamine Yamal
- Atletico Madrid: Thiago Almada, Pablo Barrios, Robin Le Normand, Clement Lenglet, Marcos Llorente, Marc Pubill, Matteo Ruggeri, Giuliano Simeone
All these guys will be desperate to avoid a booking, so they can play in the second leg. That should calm both teams down a bit, so I expect to see a more cautious and controlled approach on both sides. The odds on under 4.5 cards are very solid, given the circumstances, making this one of the Champions League best bets today.
