I struggle to see how Sunderland can be available at +625 in that spot. Sure, Chelsea is the bigger name and the Blues have a better squad, but the gap is not that substantial right now.

Enzo Maresca has to rely on plenty of youngsters, which leads to chaos. The Blues have received numerous red cards recently, showing the lack of discipline. Furthermore, they just played a Champions League game in midweek and will be carrying some fatigue into this game.

That bodes really well for a Sunderland team that has exceeded expectations so far. The newly-promoted side was expected to fight against relegation but is in the top half of the table instead.

Sunderland are very tough to beat and have conceded more than one goal only twice since the start of the season (two goals on both occasions). The underdogs will sit back, defend deep, frustrate Chelsea, and try to hit them on the counter.

Getting almost plus odds for Liverpool against Brentford would’ve been unthinkable just a few weeks ago. However, the champions suffered a poor streak of games, and some of their new players have struggled to adapt to the team.

Still, the Reds found some rhythm by demolishing Eintracht Frankfurt in the Champions League, restoring some confidence. They have a very winnable game next, so I’m surprised by the odds for them to win.

Brentford have been inconsistent since the start of the season, allowing 12 goals in 8 EPL games. That kind of defense is bound to allow chances, and Liverpool have the players to capitalize.

Isak might be out of this one because of a groin injury, but this could be a blessing in disguise. Hugo Ekitike has been amazing since coming this summer and deserves to start up front anyway.

Overall, Brentford’s defensive issues are likely lead to way too many chances against a Liverpool side that’s not nearly as bad as social media will lead you to believe nowadays. I can’t complain about the overall perception, though, since that’s probably the reason we can get -124 for Liverpool to win this match.
