Best Bets for the Italian Serie A Today, October 25 (With Reasoning)

Here’s why I selected my Serie A betting picks for today, October 25.

Parma vs Como: Under 2.5 (-124)

Como just took down Juventus 2-0 last week and enters Serie A Matchday 8 as -105 road favorites at Lucky Rebel.

Cesc Fabregas’s side is rolling along in Year 2 in the top flight league, sitting 6th overall at 3-3-1. They’re not filling the net with goals, having scored nine in seven games, but are playing impressive defense, conceding only five times—the third-fewest in the league.

Parma’s record is basically the opposite at 1-3-3 and they’re just above the relegation zone. Only giving up seven goals isn’t bad, however, scoring only three goals in seven games has been a porous output.

Parma have been held off the scoresheet in four of five recent league games, while both teams have gone 6-1 to the Under 2.5. In last year’s two meetings, the scores were 1-1 and 1-0 Como. I’ll follow that low-scoring trend for Saturday’s Serie A picks since the odds of -124 are too high for two teams who really struggle to create chances.

The Bet
Under 2.5 Goals
-124

Cremonese vs Atalanta: Atalanta or Draw & Under 3.5 (-147)

On paper, this looks like a comfortable Atalanta win. La Dea have been one of the better sides in Serie A for several years, while Cremonese are newcomers to the league this season. However, the table shows very little between them right now with Atalanta 8th with 11 points and Cremonese 10th with 10 points.

Both teams have been hard to beat, but have also struggled to collect wins. That has resulted in plenty of draws for both sites. Atalanta is 2-5-0 and Cremonese 2-4-1.

Cremonese haven’t won in five games, drawing four of those five. Atalanta have also drawn four of their past five with each of their last two matches ending 0-0. One of those came midweek versus Slavia Prague in the Champions League, so they might be some tired legs for the favorite.

Still, Atalanta’s only loss in all matches was versus PSG so I don’t see them losing here, however, this may be closer than it looks. Atalanta is 6-1 to Under 3.5 totals, so combining Atalanta not to lose and Under 3.5 goals looks like a safe option with a decent return.

The Bet
Atalanta X2 & Under 3.5
-147
