6. Top 30 Finish at 2025 Masters

After 10 years and 11 months, Northern Irishman Rory McIlroy finally returned to major championship glory, capturing the first green jacket of his career by edging Justin Rose in a playoff at Augusta National.

On the betting board, McIlroy easily clears the first metric and sits among the favorites at top golf betting sites. He’s currently priced at +1000 to win, trailing only Scottie Scheffler.

Further down the odds board, longshots Joaquin Niemann, Denny McCarthy, and Sahith Theegala just sneak into the top 30. However, do any of these sleepers advance to the next tier of contenders in our Masters betting system? The top-30 is more than cut in half with 14 golfers moving onto the next stage.

5. Top 30 World Golf Rankings

Despite not winning the Masters last year and slight recent regression in form, the 2024 winner ranks atop the World Golf Rankings (OWGR). Scottie Scheffler leads the PGA Tour with 629 points to put him comfortably ahead of McIlroy, who currently holds 387 points.

Scheffler enters the Masters as the clear betting favorite at +450. The Players champion and current world No. 3, Cameron Young, missed the cut at last year’s Masters, so he does not qualify under our criteria and is therefore not among our best Masters 2026 picks.

There is one important caveat when reviewing this list: Bryson DeChambeau (24) and Jon Rahm (28) have been eligible to earn OWGR points as LIV Golf members since February 2026. With a full PGA Tour schedule on their resumes, both players would almost certainly rank much higher.

4. 18+ Strokes Gained Tee-to-Green Past 4 Starts

The following SG: Tee-to-Green data reflects the last four PGA Tour starts for each player, per Data Golf. To accurately compare Bryson DeChambeau and Jon Rahm to their PGA peers, we’ve excluded their LIV Golf performances, which generally come against weaker fields on less demanding courses.

Even so, both players have been dominant in LIV events. DeChambeau has won back-to-back events and finished in the top three in three of his last four starts. Rahm, meanwhile, has posted four top-five finishes and a win over that same stretch. In practical terms, their recent SG: Tee-to-Green numbers would comfortably exceed 30 in our model, so they qualify whether you look at their last five events overall or only their most recent PGA Tour starts.

Rory McIlroy’s surge at the Pebble Beach Pro-Am and Genesis Invitational vaults him to the top of this list. He withdrew after Round 2 at the Arnold Palmer Invitational with a back injury and came up short of expectations at The Players. Still, his recent SG: Tee-to-Green profile is highly encouraging as he heads into the 2026 Masters.

With the last 13 winners 18+ in SG: Tee-to-Green in their previous four tournaments, this is one of the most important metrics to consider.

3. Top 40 in Par 5 Scoring Average

Golfers who dominate par 5s are typically best suited for Augusta National. That’s backed up by a key Masters trend: 13 of the last 15 winners ranked inside the top 40 in par-5 scoring entering the tournament.

Xander Schauffele sits 51st in par-5 scoring, so he misses the cut for this metric, leaving five golfers who still qualify. Among them, McIlroy leads the way on the PGA Tour, ranking 6th with a par-5 average of 4.38. He’s followed closely by Fleetwood, who is tied for 7th at 4.40.

Rahm and DeChambeau don’t appear on the PGA Tour’s par-5 leaderboard based on their results over the last year, but their LIV numbers are revealing. In 2025, Rahm led LIV Golf in par-5 scoring at 4.47, while DeChambeau tied for second at 4.51.

Given those marks and their red-hot starts to this season, it’s overwhelmingly likely both would rank inside the PGA Tour’s top 40 in 2026 and firmly deserve inclusion here.

2. Top 20 in Greens in Regulation (GIR%)

Rahm’s consistency this season affords him an impressive greens in regulation (GIR%) strike rate of 82.2%. He and his LIV counterpart are both above 75%, with DeChambeau standing at 76.6% to rank No. 1 and T3. Although they haven’t played a PGA schedule in 2026, their results suggest top-20 form.

Aberg is off to a quick start for an overall ranking of No. 13 and McIlroy No. 14 in GIR% this season. Fleetwood is well wide of the mark, as he sits 75th, for a 67.01% and doesn’t make our shortlist of best Masters bets.

1. Top 6 Finish in Major in Last Two Years

After starting with 30 golfers, we are left with three that fit every vital metric of our 2026 Masters betting system: DeChambeau, McIlroy, and Aberg.

Despite moving to LIV Golf in 2022, DeChambeau has been a force when he returns to the PGA Tour for major events. As well as a win at the 2024 U.S.Open, he has five top-6 finishes in two years.

Last year, McIlroy was able to finally end his major’s drought in stunning fashion for a win at the Masters. Lastly, although Aberg is considered more of a longshot than DeChambeau and McIlroy, he fits into the system and satisfies every measure of success for the 2026 Masters.
