PSG to qualify-140
Real Madrid to qualify+110

Paris Saint-Germain are the current Champions League winners, while Real Madrid have won two of the last four Champions Leagues. There is also the storyline of Kylian Mbappe facing his former team after leaving Paris for Madrid, and it wasn’t an easy breakup.

PSG are the favorites to win the match with an implied win probability of 43.5%, and a 58.3% implied win probability to qualify for the final.

In comparison, Real Madrid has an implied chance to win the match of 33.9% and 47.6% to qualify for the final, according to the Club World Cup odds. Madrid is very familiar with this stage of the tournament, as they’ve won the Club World Cup five times. They’re on a path to make it six, but they have a considerable obstacle in PSG!

Paris Saint-Germain – Can The European Champions Assert Their Dominance?

PSG topped Group B, then thrashed Lionel Messi’s Inter Miami 4-0 in the Round of 16. The French club then defeated Bayern Munich 2-0 in a quaterfinal game that was memorable for Bayern’s Jamal Musiala suffering a gruesome ankle injury.

But it was also, arguably, the highest quality we’ve seen in the tournament so far. Goals from Desire Doue and Ousmane Dembele put the game to bed for PSG.

PSG will go into this game shorthanded as Lucas Hernandez and Willian Pacho received red cards late against Bayern, forcing them out of this game. Manager Luis Enrique will have to go into his team and find replacements on the back line. Lucas Beraldo will likely take Pacho’s spot in the center of defense. Hernandez came on as a late replacement, however.

Still, PSG vs. Real Madrid odds favor the French side because of their depth and skill up front, and in the middle of the pitch. Fabian Ruiz, Vitinha, and Joao Neves have been brilliant in midfield. Dembele, the favorite in the Ballon d’Or odds, has come off the bench in both games, and could start here. Doue, the 20-year-old wonderkid, is spectacular.

Real Madrid is, historically, the more successful. But right now, you’d be hard-pressed to find a better team in the world than Paris Saint-Germain. The PSG vs. Real Madrid odds at the top betting soccer reflect that. Will they make that count in New Jersey on Wednesday?

Real Madrid – Can Mbappe Get One Over His Former Club?

Real Madrid finished first atop Group H, then edged Juventus 1-0 in the Round of 16. Madrid looked poised for the Last 4 after jumpin out to a 2-0 lead against Borussia Dortmund in the quarterfinals, but the game was far from over. After three second-half injury-time goals, Madrid had to hold on for a 3-2 victory.

Gonzalo Garcia is now one of the top scorers at the tournament with four goals, while Fran Garcia (no relation) also found the back of the net. But Kylian Mbappe’s volley in the 94th minute stole the spotlight. Even though he just dropped his lawsuit against PSG, Mbappe will want to punish his former club on the pitch!

Real also needed an unbelievable save from Thibaut Courtois late to preserve the victory. The Spanish giants haven’t looked their best in this tournament. You would probably put that down to a new manager in Xabi Alonso, who only had a handful of training sessions to instill his methods.

The team will also have to figure out who will join Antonio Rudiger in central defense. Dean Huijsen received a red card against Dortmund, so Raul Asencio will likely take that spot.

But Real’s strength comes with their attacking prowess. Garcia has quietly emerged, while Mbappe is just starting to come around after missing the group stage with gastroenteritis.

Vinicius Junior has yet to take over a game, while Jude Bellingham has been solid, but not spectacular. Against the champions of Europe, Real’s superstars will have to play like it if the Spanish team is going to overcome these PSG vs. Real Madrid odds.

PSG vs. Real Madrid Prediction and Pick

This has all the makings of the best game in the tournament. There is a ton of skill on display, two shaky defenses, and incredible goalkeepers in Courtois and PSG’s Gianluigi Donnarumma. Then, there is the beef between Mbappe and PSG, where he became a superstar, but left for free. Even the most casual fans can find a reason to watch this game.

In the end, I’m putting the French team to win in regulation at +130 in my PSG vs. Real Madrid predictions! I think PSG’s defense is better than Madrid’s, and the same goes for their midfield. The French side can control the tempo, which should be critical.

It’s going to be an outstanding game, but I’m betting on PSG to win in regulation at +130 with my prediction for this CWC semifinal!
