UFL Championship 2026 Betting Preview: Predictions, Odds, & Best Bets

UFL Championship 2026 Betting Preview: Predictions, Odds, & Best Bets

As the United Football League kicks off its third season, online sportsbooks have already released 2026 UFL Championship odds. The defending champion DC Defenders open as favorites to go back-to-back, but are they really the best value on the board?

In this betting preview, I’ll break down the opening odds, evaluate the top contenders, and share my early UFL Championship predictions.

UFL Championship 2026 Odds

Here are the latest UFL winner odds:

TEAM ODDS
DC Defenders +325
Birmingham Stallions +350
Columbus Aviators +475
Dallas Renegades +550
St. Louis Battlehawks +650
Orlando Storm +1100
Houston Gamblers +1200
Louisville Kings +1800

According to top UFL betting sites, the DC Defenders (+325) are small favorites over the Birmingham Stallions (+350) for the 2026 title. At +325, the Defenders have a 23.5% implied probability to repeat this season.

The 2024 champion Stallions sit just behind the Defenders with a 22.2% title probability, reflecting how razor-thin the gap is at the top. They put together one of the best regular seasons in the league last year but ultimately ran out of gas in the postseason.

Behind the Defenders and Stallions, the Columbus Aviators (+475), Dallas Renegades (+550), and St. Louis Battlehawks (+650) are all firmly in the mix among the contenders. Further down the board, the Orlando Storm (+1100), Houston Gamblers (+1200), and Louisville Kings (+1800) are viewed as longshots in the current market.

2026 UFL Championship Betting Favorites

Here’s how the top of the UFL futures market stacks up, and what you need to know about each favorite before placing a bet.

DC Defenders (+325)

The DC Defenders present an intriguing but ultimately flawed championship case to go back-to-back at +325.

Their offensive firepower is undeniable. QB Jordan Ta’amu’s 17 touchdown passes lead the second and second with 2,153 yards passing. He threw only four interceptions to limit the mistakes. As one of the most experienced spring football players in the UFL, he should continue to have success.

That said, WR Chris Rowland’s playmaking ability won’t be present, as he’s with the Orlando Storm now. Ta’amu’s arm can beat any defense in the league on any given day, so he should still be in good shape regardless. However, their mediocre running game makes them too one-dimensional at times.

Despite winning the championship, the Defenders’ defense was inconsistent. That suspect run defense becomes a massive liability in playoff football when teams lean on ball control and clock management. They were fifth out of eight teams with over 117 rushing yards allowed per game in the UFL.

The Defenders made it work last year, though they didn’t do anything to address their suspect defense. If Ta’amu regresses at all, the Defenders are in trouble. At +325, you’re betting that an offense-only team can outscore everyone for multiple consecutive games.

The value simply isn’t there when it should be tough to duplicate what they did last season, and I expect slight regression for them after winning the championship. Ta’amu will nevertheless make games fun to watch.

Birmingham Stallions (+350)

The Stallions at +350 represent solid value for a team that’s been the UFL’s most dominant franchise. Birmingham posted the league’s best point differential at +77 while cruising to a 7-3 record and another USFL conference title.

It’s even more impressive that they ranked second in scoring despite rotating through multiple quarterbacks due to injuries. Imagine what they’ll do with former Ole Miss QB Matt Corral healthy and back under center for a full playoff run. Corral led the Stallions to a championship in 2024 and can do it again.

Their defense gives them the foundation championship teams need, ranking in the top half against both the pass and rush. The continuity factor matters too, with their core returning from back-to-back title runs.

Sure, there’s a new head coach in AJ McCarron, the youngest in professional football, but he inherits a proven system and veteran roster that knows how to win when it counts.

The pressure of being the premier franchise could weigh on some teams, but Birmingham has thrived under expectations. They’ve navigated adversity all season long and still dominated the XFL Conference.

With +350 odds to win the UFL Championship, you’re getting championship-caliber value on a team that’s proven they belong in this conversation. The Stallions have the talent, experience, and timing to make another deep run for the title.

Columbus Aviators (+475)

The Columbus Aviators face serious questions at +475 despite their impressive offensive pieces. They’ve got an experienced offensive line and dual-threat capability with QB Clayton Tune and QB Jalan McClendon under center, plus RB Toa Taua coming off a six-touchdown campaign in seven games. He wasn’t even the featured back in Michigan and still had a nose for the end zone.

Those elements look solid on paper, but context matters here.

This is an expansion franchise in year one, which historically spells trouble in spring football leagues. First-year teams need time to develop chemistry and identity, luxuries you don’t have in a short season. Also concerning is Ted Ginn Jr.’s lack of head coaching experience at any level.

That’s a massive variable before making your 2026 UFL Championship picks. The defense should be questionable, especially with a defense in the box that has holes. Despite having a couple of playmakers in the secondary with Kedrick Whitehead and Michael Lawson, a lack of a pass rush and run stopping unit is concerning.

At +475, the market is already skeptical, and rightfully so. The implied probability suggests Columbus is just about a longshot, and the growing pains of being an expansion team combined with defensive vulnerabilities make this number feel about right rather than offering hidden value.

There are safer places to invest money for your UFL Championship betting picks.

Best UFL Championship Longshot Bets

There are two UFL teams to consider locking in for longshot picks to win the championship this season:

  1. 1. St. Louis Battlehawks (+650)

The Battlehawks may not be a massive longshot, but at +650 they offer too much value to ignore. Backed by the UFL’s most passionate fan base, they enjoy the league’s strongest home-field advantage. After going 8-2 with the best record in the league, expect St. Louis to draw strong crowds again in 2026.

They ended the regular season on a six-game win streak before the Defenders stopped them in the XFL Conference Championship, keeping them out of the title game. With veteran QB Brandon Silvers back under center, the Battlehawks should be firmly in the mix again.

A dominant rushing attack that ranked first in the UFL last year should open things up for Silvers. St. Louis averaged 23.1 points per game (third in the league) and finished second with a +66 point differential. The secondary was another bright spot, allowing just 163.5 passing yards per game, second-best in 2025.

At +650, they’re a strong candidate to pair with my top UFL Championship futures pick.

  2. 2. Orlando Storm (+1100)

If you are going to bet on an expansion team this season, the Orlando Storm appear like the pick at +1100. Led by QB Dorian Thompson-Robinson, they enter the 2026 campaign with decent NFL experience behind them.

Thompson-Robinson spent two years in the NFL, making 15 appearances with the Cleveland Browns. It was a rough experience for Thompson-Robinson in the NFL, but he played on a Browns team with virtually no weapons. He was running for his life most of the time, and his dual-threat ability should be a big positive in the UFL.

Joining the Storm is Defenders’ WR1 Rowland from last season. He led the Defenders in receiving yards and gives Thompson-Robinson an immediate target.

Former Buffalo Bills’ second-round pick KJ Hamler has a big opportunity to impress as well. Also, the secondary has talent with former NFL CB Micah Abraham and S Jaylen Mahoney.

Despite being an expansion team, the Storm have underrated talent that shouldn’t be overlooked. As a longshot bet at +1100, the Storm are worth a small play to win the UFL Championship.

2026 UFL Championship Predictions and Betting Pick

The Stallions couldn’t finish the job last season, but they enter this year with far more optimism thanks to Matt Corral’s return under center. Corral suffered a hip injury in Week 4, and the rest of the quarterback room battled injuries and inconsistency, never finding a rhythm like he could have established.

If Corral stays healthy, the Stallions should be in a fantastic position. They already boast one of the league’s best defenses, and a full season with Corral elevates what should be an explosive offense.

On top of that, after failing to reach the UFL Championship because of an upset last year, this group should be playing with a clear sense of urgency, and likely more motivation than the Defenders.

Washington still has Ta’amu, but Birmingham brings the more complete, well-rounded roster. In short, the Stallions are my recommended pick for a UFL Championship prediction and my favorite choice in the futures market.
