Chicago Sky (+10.5) vs. Minnesota Lynx (-110)

The Sky (7-13) have won two in a row after beating the Lynx 87-81 at home on Saturday, as Ariel Atkins poured in a game-high 27 points. Angel Reese (19 points, 11 rebounds) and Kamilla Cardoso (17 points, 15 rebounds) had double-doubles as the Sky dominated the interior. Chicago outscored Minnesota 44-28 in the paint, and outrebounded the Lynx 45-28, including 13-7 at the offensive end.

The Lynx (18-4) got a big game from MVP favorite Napheesa Collier, who had 26 points, eight rebounds, five assists, three steals, and three blocks. Kayla McBride added 17 points for Minnesota, who shot 39.5% from the field and couldn’t keep up with the active Sky in the lane. They also launched 30 three-pointers, and hit just 10 of them, five of which came from McBride.

This will be the third meeting of the season between the Sky and Lynx. The first was an 80-75 win for the Lynx in Minnesota on July 6, and the Sky rebounded with their win on Saturday. The two also met twice in the preseason, and both were five-point wins for either team, with the home team winning on both occasions on May 6 and May 10.

There is a good chance that the Lynx, who have the WNBA’s best record, get the win tonight. But I’m taking the Sky to cover the 10.5-point spread at Wintrust Arena in the Windy City tonight! The Sky are fifth in offensive rating, and seventh in defensive rating, over their last five games. Reese has been terrific with eight straight double-doubles, and getting Cardoso back after international duty gives Chicago a huge advantage in the paint.

If the Sky can continue to lean on their post players, get a good night from Atkins, and play decent defense, they should be able to cover the 10.5 points at home with odds of -110 on Monday night!

Chicago Sky +10.5
