Las Vegas is under the spotlight after a humbling 89‑73 loss to Indiana in Game 1. That defeat was painful. They looked flat. The Fever shot 50% from the field. MVP A’ja Wilson still had a strong game with 16 points and 13 boards, but the supporting cast, and especially the defense, were nowhere near their usual standard.

Kelsey Mitchell exploded for 34 points, taking over with Indiana missing Caitlin Clark and Sophie Cunningham. The Fever have shown guts in this playoff run, even with key players out.
The Aces’ identity over the final stretch of the season was built on defense. They’ll be smart enough to clamp down in Game 2, tighten rotations, send help more aggressively, and contest every shot. They can’t afford another off night. I like them to bounce back and cover the 9-point spread at WNBA betting sites.
