WWE Backlash was held in Lyon, France, last year, but it’s back in the United States, with the Enterprise Center in St. Louis, Missouri, hosting the event. Can Randy Orton take the Undisputed WWE Championship from John Cena in Orton’s hometown on Saturday, May 10?

Let’s explore the WWE Backlash betting odds for this match and three others, for which I share my predictions and betting picks!

John Cena vs. Randy Orton Odds, Prediction, Betting Pick

  • John Cena (-5000)
  • Randy Orton (+1200)

John Cena (-5000) punctuated his return to the WWE by beating Cody Rhodes to win the Undisputed title at WrestleMania 41. It was Cena’s 17th time as WWE champion, a new record. But the next night on Raw, Orton (+1200) hit Cena with an RKO, and then challenged him to a title match on SmackDown.

Cena’s heel turn was predicted before WrestleMania, and the fans are responding as the veteran prepares to retire from wrestling at the end of the year. The champion enters this match with an implied win probability of 98%, even in Orton’s hometown of St. Louis.

“The Viper” is also highly decorated, having won the WWE Championship ten times, along with many other title reigns. There is a lot of history between the two as they’ve met 21 times, with Cena winning 13 times, Orton seven times, and a draw.

It would be fantastic if Orton won in front of his family and friends in St. Louis, and there is a massive return on his odds at WWE betting sites. However, I can’t see the WWE bringing back Cena as a heel to win at WrestleMania, just to turn around and lose the title a couple of weeks later. I’m predicting a John Cena win, but at -5000, I can’t recommend a wager on the champion when the odds are so low.

Gunther vs. Pat McAfee Odds, Prediction, Betting Pick

  • Gunther (-1200)
  • Pat McAfee (+750)

This feud kicked off at the Raw after WrestleMania 41, when Gunther (-1200) went after commentators McAfee (+750) and Michael Cole. Gunther put McAfee to sleep with a chokehold.

McAfee, one of the biggest stars at ESPN, has been involved with the WWE since 2018. He is a host, but has been in the ring before. The former NFL punter is a big guy at 6’1”, but he’s still much smaller than Gunther, who is 6’4” and 250 pounds. Gunther also lost the World Heavyweight Championship to Jey Uso at WrestleMania.

Don’t overthink it here. The WWE has nothing to gain from a McAfee win, so I’ll take Gunther. But again, at -1200, like the Cena match, I can’t recommend a wager on Gunther because the odds are too low.

Becky Lynch vs. Lyra Valkyria Odds, Prediction, Betting Pick

  • Becky Lynch (-400)
  • Lyra Valkyria (+250)

Lynch (-400) returned to action at WrestleMania after almost a year away, where she partnered with Valkyria (+250) to win the Women’s Tag Team belts from Liv Morgan and Raquel Rodriguez. However, Morgan and Rodriguez won the titles back the next night on Raw, and Lynch turned on her former partner.

Valkyria is the inaugural Women’s International Champion, and Lynch would love to add that belt to her resume. The champion has an implied win probability of 28.6% to beat Lynch, who has turned heel.

However, I don’t think Lynch gets a title just yet. I expect more build-up before her storyline leads to a belt, so I’ll take the value on Valkyria at +250, and bet on the champ to retain her belt in St. Louis!

Jacob Fatu vs. Drew McIntyre vs. LA Knight vs. Damian Priest Odds, Prediction, Betting Pick

  • Jacob Fatu (-2500)
  • Drew McIntyre (+500)
  • LA Knight (+700)
  • Damian Priest (+900)

Fatu (-2500) just won the United States Championship from Knight (+700) on Day 1 at WrestleMania, while McIntyre (+500) beat Priest (+900) in a Sin City Street Fight on Day 2. On the next SmackDown, Knight and McIntyre fought to be the #1 contender for Fatu, but there was outside interference from Fatu and the Bloodline.

Obviously, with a Fatal Four-Way match, there are many moving parts to evaluate. Fatu is a considerable favorite in these WWE Backlash odds, and has an implied win probability of 96%. But I’m taking McIntyre at +500 as it feels like he should be more “over” in the company than he already is.

Let’s take the return here and bet on Drew McIntyre’s odds on Saturday night!
