Paris Saint-Germain – Can PSG Win Their Fifth Trophy of the Season?

PSG had a mouthwatering match against Real Madrid lined up, playing against former star Kylian Mbappe, who left Paris for Spain in a messy divorce. But the clash was over after 24 minutes as a Fabian Ruiz brace and a goal from Ousmane Dembele gave PSG a 3-0 lead.

Goncalo Ramos scored in the 87th minute to make it a 4-0 final that, quite frankly, could have been much worse for Madrid.

The Champions League winners used the same formula they have utilized all season. Dembele, Khvicha Kvaratskhelia, and Desire Doue pressed Madrid’s defenders into making mistakes for the first two goals.

Ruiz, Vitinha, and Joao Neves dominated the midfield and took Jude Bellingham out of the game. When Madrid finally got a chance to break out, the defense kept their opponents in front of them. Keeper Gianluigi Donnarumma only had to make two saves.

Madrid had their issues, especially defensively. But PSG has been making great teams look silly for most of the season. They’re on the cusp of their fifth trophy this season, which would put them in an elite group.

PSG are the deserved favorites in these Club World Cup final odds. At -175, it’s actually a steal as PSG are, far and away, the better team from front to back.

Chelsea —Can the Blues Win Their Second Club World Cup?

Joao Pedro got his first start since joining Chelsea last week in an $81.5 million deal with Brighton. It was an emotional match, since the Brazilian began his career at the Fluminense youth system.

The love he has to the club didn’t prevent Pedro from putting his former team to the sword on Tuesday. The forward netted a pair of spectacular goals in a 2-0 win over Fluminense in the first semifinal.

Chelsea got a little luck as a VAR review overturned a penalty against the Blues. But overall, it might have been Chelsea’s best 90-minute performance of the tournament. It did come with a cost, however. Midfielder Moises Caicedo suffered an ankle injury late in the game, and he has been Chelsea’s most consistent player.

Romeo Lavia is also injured, which means there is a spot open beside Enzo Fernandez. Andrey Santos might step into that spot as he is more defensive, and that allows Fernandez to use the ball.

But against PSG’s midfield, Chelsea might want to be more compact, or else they’ll get overrun. Their defense is also going to be pressured, and all four defenders, as well as keeper Robert Sanchez, will need the game of their lives to keep PSG off them.

That still might not be enough against the French side. Backing Chelsea offers a great return on their Club World Cup final odds, if you have the courage to take them at the top sites for soccerbetting, but I don’t recommend that!

2025 Club World Cup Final Prediction and Pick

The odds suggest PSG will win the cup, one way or another. You could bet them at -175 to win in regulation, or at -340 to lift the trophy in any way possible. But to maximize the return, I’m taking the PSG to cover the -1 handicap. That means PSG has to win by more than one goal for this bet to cash. If they win by one, it’s a push, and your money is returned.

I’m quite confident that PSG will win by more than one goal. They smashed Inter Milan 5-0 in the Champions League final, and then blasted Real Madrid in the CWC semifinal. The bigger the moment, the more prepared they are.

If Chelsea can withstand the early onslaught that is coming, they might have a shot. But with no Caicedo in the middle of the pitch, I don’t think the Blues can stop PSG’s midfield from taking over.

That’s why I’m taking the PSG handicap of -1 at -110 odds in my Club World Cup final predictions!

The Bet
PSG Handicap -1
