The Rams and the Seahawks face off on Thursday Night Football with the top spot in the NFC West, and potentially the number one seed, on the line. This divisional battle is essentially a pick’em in the opening betting lines.
Other exciting matchups include Green Bay -1 vs. Chicago, the Buccaneers -3 vs. the Panthers, and Baltimore -3 against the visiting Patriots.

Los Angeles Rams vs. Seattle Seahawks Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles Rams | -1 (+100) | -105 | Over 43.5 (-115) |
| Seattle Seahawks | +1 (-120) | -115 | Under 43.5 (-105) |
A divisional title and the number one seed in the NFC are both on the line this week on TNF. The Rams (11-3) take on the Seahawks (11-3) in Seattle in a rematch of their Week 11 thriller.
Los Angeles is the smallest of moneyline underdogs at -105, with Seattle listed at -115. The Rams won the first matchup 21-19 after Seattle missed a game-winning field goal as time expired.
Matthew Stafford and company have plenty of momentum after their 41-34 comeback win over the Lions last week. However, the Seahawks are riding a four-game winning streak. Seattle (+169) is also the only team in the NFL with a better point differential than LA (+159).
The short week could be especially punishing for the Rams. Davante Adams reaggravated his hamstring injury and is unlikely to be ready for this game. Without the league’s TD reception leader, the Rams will likely come up short in Seattle this week.
Rams vs. Seahawks NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Seattle Seahawks +1 (-120)
- Moneyline Bet: Seattle Seahawks (-115)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 43.5 (-115)
Philadelphia Eagles vs. Washington Commanders Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Philadelphia Eagles | -6.5 (-110) | -290 | Over 44.5 (-110) |
| Washington Commanders | +6.5 (-110) | +240 | Under 44.5 (-110) |
The first of two Saturday games this week pits the Eagles (9-5) against the Commanders (4-10) in their first matchup of the year. Philadelphia dominated the Raiders, shutting out Las Vegas 31-0.
Jalen Hurts and company needed the win to end a three-game losing streak. Hurts and the Eagles are 6.5-point road favorites this week against their divisional rival. Washington is a +240 moneyline underdog at home.
The Commanders also ended a losing streak last week, taking down the Giants 29-21 for their first win since Week 5. However, Washington also announced it was shutting down Jayden Daniels for the rest of the season.
Without Daniels under center, the Commanders have little to no shot at upsetting the Eagles outright. However, Washington has been competitive when Marcus Mariota starts since Terry McLaurin returned. Also, divisional games are typically close.
After a big win last week, the Eagles should regress somewhat this week, allowing the Commanders to cover the spread as home underdogs.
Eagles vs. Commanders NFL Week Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Washington Commanders +6.5 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Philadelphia Eagles (-290)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 44.5 (-110)
Green Bay Packers vs. Chicago Bears Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Green Bay Packers | -1 (-105) | -115 | Over 46.5 (-110) |
| Chicago Bears | +1 (-115) | -105 | Under 46.5 (-110) |
Green Bay’s time at the top of the NFC North was short-lived. After beating the Bears in Week 14 to gain the divisional lead, the Packers gave the top spot back to Chicago last week after their 34-26 loss in Denver.
The Packers also lost Micah Parsons for the season to a torn ACL. Despite losing arguably their best player, Green Bay is a 1-point road favorite against the Bears this week.
Last week, the Bears steamrolled the Browns 31-3 in the fourth-coldest Bears game in the history of Soldier Field. Green Bay will be a tougher test than Cleveland, but the Packers are not nearly as healthy as they were two weeks ago.
In addition to losing Parsons, WR Christian Watson also hurt his shoulder. If Watson also misses this game, the Packers offense will be without its most explosive player.
The Bears nearly won this game two weeks ago, but they came up short on a potential game-winning drive. Without Parsons and Watson, though, the Packers will have a tough time securing the season sweep. Chicago is the better bet at home this weekend.
Packers vs. Bears NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Chicago Bears +1 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Chicago Bears (-105)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 46.5 (-110)
Tampa Bay Buccaneers vs. Carolina Panthers Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Tampa Bay Buccaneers | -3 (-105) | -165 | Over 45.5 (-110) |
| Carolina Panthers | +3 (-115) | +140 | Under 45.5 (-110) |
Another battle for first place is taking place in the NFC South this week. The Buccaneers (7-7) take on the Panthers (7-7) in their first of two matchups over the final three weeks.
Both teams were upset by division rivals last week, but one of them has to win on Sunday. Tampa Bay is a 3-point road favorite in the latest odds for this Week 16 game. Carolina is listed as the +140 moneyline underdog.
Tampa started 5-1 but has gone 2-6 since. The Bucs have also lost back-to-back games to divisional opponents.
Carolina is 4-3 at home this season, and they currently have the ninth-best rushing attack in the league, averaging 125.6 YPG. Tampa Bay has a top 10 run defense, but they allow nearly 250 passing YPG.
If Bryce Young can take advantage of the holes in the Bucs’ defense, then the Panthers will win this game. Young has four games this season with three passing TDs, and he may need to do it again this week to take down the Bucs.
Buccaneers vs. Panthers NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Carolina Panthers +3 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Carolina Panthers (+140)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 45.5 (-110)
Buffalo Bills vs. Cleveland Browns Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Buffalo Bills | -10 (-110) | -525 | Over 42.5 (-110) |
| Cleveland Browns | +10 (-110) | +375 | Under 42.5 (-110) |
Buffalo’s five straight TD drives helped save the Bills’ hopes of winning the division. The Bills’ 35-31 win over New England prevented the Patriots from clinching the top spot.
Josh Allen and company still need help to win the AFC East, and they need to keep winning. On paper, this week’s matchup with Cleveland should be a layup for Buffalo. The Bills are 10-point road favorites against a struggling opponent.
Cleveland was on the wrong side of a 31-3 blowout last week. On the bright side, the Browns have been better at home this season, and Myles Garrett very well could break the NFL sack record this weekend.
The natural lull after a major comeback win will make it challenging for the Bills to cover the 10 points in this trap game. However, I do think the Bills will take care of business on Sunday, even though the Browns should cover.
Bills vs. Browns NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Cleveland Browns +10 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Buffalo Bills (-525)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 42.5 (-110)
Los Angeles Chargers vs. Dallas Cowboys Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Los Angeles Chargers | +2 (-110) | +110 | Over 49.5 (-115) |
| Dallas Cowboys | -2 (-110) | -130 | Under 49.5 (-105) |
The Chargers and the Cowboys both hold the distinction of beating last year’s Super Bowl teams, the Chiefs and the Eagles, in back-to-back weeks. Los Angeles one-upped Dallas by sweeping their divisional rival and knocking KC out of the playoffs.
Dallas hosts LA this weekend, and the Cowboys are 2-point favorites at home. The Chargers are +110 road underdogs in the current moneyline odds.
The Cowboys are favored but far from guaranteed to win this weekend. Dallas has lost back-to-back games and given up 28+ points in three straight games. Their defense has been especially vulnerable to the pass this season, giving up a league-high 254.8 passing YPG.
LA has plenty of issues of its own, including multiple injuries along its offensive line. The Chargers have overcome those injuries so far, winning six of their last seven games.
Keeping up with the Dallas offense has been easier said than done at times. However, the Chargers’ resurgent rush attack and their top-three pass defense could be the perfect combination to take down Dallas on Sunday.
Chargers vs. Cowboys NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Los Angeles Chargers +2 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Los Angeles Chargers (+110)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 49.5 (-105)
New York Jets vs. New Orleans Saints Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| New York Jets | +4 (-105) | +185 | Over 40.5 (-115) |
| New Orleans Saints | -4 (-115) | -225 | Under 40.5 (-105) |
In a battle of bad teams, the New York Jets (3-11) take on the New Orleans Saints (4-10). Both teams have been eliminated from the postseason and are fourth in their respective divisions.
The Jets are getting 4 points in New Orleans on Sunday. Last week, New York was blown out in Jacksonville, losing 48-20 and allowing six total TDs to Trevor Lawrence. The Saints, on the other hand, have won back-to-back games against NFC South rivals.
As an AFC team that the Saints do not play often, the Jets could have a unique edge this weekend. All four of the Saints’ wins this season have come against NFC teams, including three against divisional opponents.
New York could also get a major upgrade at quarterback if Tyrod Taylor returns from the groin injury that kept him out last week. The journeyman QB is far from a world beater, but Taylor is good enough to end the Saints’ two-game winning streak this week.
Jets vs. Saints NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: New York Jets +4 (-105)
- Moneyline Bet: New York Jets (+185)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 40.5 (-115)
Minnesota Vikings vs. New York Giants Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Minnesota Vikings | -3 (-110) | -165 | Over 43.5 (-110) |
| New York Giants | +3 (-110) | +140 | Under 43.5 (-110) |
Minnesota, the only team in the NFC North officially eliminated from playoff contention, has won back-to-back games by a combined score of 65-26. J.J. McCarthy and company are 3-point favorites on the road against the Giants this weekend.
New York was favored last week but lost 29-21 against the visiting Commanders. It was the Giants’ eighth straight loss and knocked the G-Men to 1-9 against NFC opponents.
The Vikings, on the other hand, have earned four of their six wins this season on the road. Minnesota’s -18 point differential is the worst in the NFC North, but it is significantly better than New York’s -96.
Minnesota is a tough out on the road, and they have momentum following their back-to-back wins. The Vikings should win again this weekend and cover the 3-point spread against the Giants on Sunday.
Vikings vs. Giants NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Minnesota Vikings -3 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Minnesota Vikings (-165)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 43.5 (-110)
Cincinnati Bengals vs. Miami Dolphins Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Cincinnati Bengals | -4 (-110) | -220 | Over 48 (-110) |
| Miami Dolphins | +4 (-110) | +180 | Under 48 (-110) |
Cincinnati’s playoff hopes officially ended last week with a 24-0 loss to Baltimore. It was the Bengals’ second straight loss, moving Cincy to 4-10 on the season.
Miami was also eliminated from the postseason with its loss last week. The Dolphins’ four-game winning streak was snapped in prime time, falling 28-15 to the Steelers. It was also likely Tua Tagovailoa’s last game as the Dolphins’ starter, as Miami announced this week they were making a QB change.
The Dolphins will roll with rookie Quinn Ewers at QB instead. Starting a rookie is one reason the Dolphins are 4-point underdogs at home against the Bengals this week.
Ewers, a seventh-round pick, has only appeared in one game this year. He completed five of his eight attempts for 53 yards in the team’s 31-6 loss to Cleveland.
On the bright side, the Dolphins should be able to lean on their rushing attack this week, limiting the pressure on Ewers in his first start. Cincinnati has the worst rushing defense in the NFL, allowing a league-high 157.9 rushing YPG. They have also allowed 18 runs of 20+ yards, the most of any team.
If Miami can use their talented running back room to take advantage of the Bengals’ poor rush defense, the Dolphins will cover in Ewers’ first start.
Bengals vs. Dolphins NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Miami Dolphins +4 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: Cincinnati Bengals (-220)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 48 (-110)
Kansas City Chiefs vs. Tennessee Titans Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Kansas City Chiefs | -3.5 (-105) | -195 | Over 37.5 (-110) |
| Tennessee Titans | +3.5 (-115) | +165 | Under 37.5 (-110) |
Kansas City (6-8) was eliminated from playoff contention last week with its loss to Los Angeles. The Chiefs also lost Patrick Mahomes for the season as the QB tore his ACL and LCL.
Mahomes is out for the year, but that does not mean the Chiefs will roll over. KC faces Tennessee this week, and the Chiefs are favored by 3.5 points in Nashville.
Even with Mahomes, the Chiefs have lost five of their last six games. Without Mahomes, KC will turn to Gardner Minshew II as its starting QB. In his first action of the season last week, Minshew completed three of his five pass attempts, but he also threw a game-losing interception.
Tennessee (2-12) is the only team in the NFL not to win a home game this season. That could change this weekend against the Chiefs, who are 1-5 on the road this year.
Mahomes was the engine that made the Chiefs’ offense work, and even the future Hall of Famer struggled to secure wins this season. Minshew is only 17-29 as a starter in his career. He should fall short this week as the Chiefs lose their fourth straight game.
Chiefs vs. Titans NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Tennessee Titans +3.5 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Tennessee Titans (+165)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 37.5 (-110)
Atlanta Falcons vs. Arizona Cardinals Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Atlanta Falcons | -2.5 (-120) | -150 | Over 48 (-110) |
| Arizona Cardinals | +2.5 (+100) | +130 | Under 48 (-110) |
Atlanta’s win over the Buccaneers on TNF last week shook up the NFC South. The Falcons are already out of the playoffs, but they can improve to .500 against the NFC this season with a win over the Cardinals on Sunday.
Arizona is a 2.5-point home underdog on Sunday. The Cardinals started 2-0, but they have lost 11 of their last 12 games. At -86, they are the only team in the NFC West with a negative point differential this season.
The Cards have struggled to score points, but they have moved the ball well with Jacoby Brissett at QB. Brissett is averaging over 300 passing YPG and has a 3:1 TD:INT ratio in his nine starts this season.
Atlanta allows fewer than 200 passing YPG this season, but they have allowed 200+ passing yards in four of their last five games.
The Cardinals’ offense could receive a significant boost this week if Marvin Harrison Jr. can return from the heel injury that has sidelined him for the last two games. With or without MHJ, Brissett should pick apart the Falcons’ defense for the upset win.
Falcons vs. Cardinals NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Arizona Cardinals +2.5 (+100)
- Moneyline Bet: Arizona Cardinals (+130)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 48 (-110)
Jacksonville Jaguars vs. Denver Broncos Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Jacksonville Jaguars | +3 (-105) | +150 | Over 46 (-105) |
| Denver Broncos | -3 (-115) | -175 | Under 46 (-115) |
For the second consecutive week, the AFC West-leading Broncos will host another division leader. The Jaguars dominated the Jets 48-20 for their fifth straight win and moved one step closer to winning the AFC South.
Denver has won 11 straight games, the longest active win streak in the NFL. The Broncos are also the number one seed in the AFC and have the league’s best record at 12-2.
With that in mind, it comes as no surprise that Denver are 3-point favorites at Mile High this weekend. The Broncos are the only team in the NFL that is still undefeated at home this year. Jacksonville is 4-2 on the road, and both losses were against AFC opponents.
This game will come down to which offense can perform better against a top defense in the league. Denver leads the league in sacks with 58 and has allowed the third-fewest points (18.6 PPG) this season.
The Jaguars’ defense has also held opponents to fewer than 21 PPG and is second in the NFL with 26 forced turnovers.
Trevor Lawrence has been sacked 32 times this season, eighth-most in the NFL. Bo Nix, on the other hand, has been better at not turning the ball over, and his ball security will give the Broncos an edge this weekend.
Jaguars vs. Broncos NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Denver Broncos -3 (-115)
- Moneyline Bet: Denver Broncos (-175)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 46 (-115)
Pittsburgh Steelers vs. Detroit Lions Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Pittsburgh Steelers | +7 (-115) | +260 | Over 50 (-110) |
| Detroit Lions | -7 (-105) | -320 | Under 50 (-110) |
Pittsburgh dominated Miami on MNF, winning 28-15 in a game that was not as close as the final score suggests. It was the Steelers’ second win in the 13 games TJ Watt has missed in his career.
Watt could be back from lung surgery this week, and the Steelers need their star pass rusher this week. Pittsburgh takes on the Lions and is a 7-point road underdog in Detroit.
The Lions have alternated wins and losses since Week 5, so it was not surprising that they lost last week in LA. Their win-loss pattern is not the only reason to believe in the Lions this weekend against Pittsburgh, though.
Detroit has one of the best rushing offenses in the league, and is one of five teams averaging over 130 rushing YPG. The Lions also lead the NFL with 30.6 PPG and are fourth with 379.9 total YPG.
Pittsburgh, conversely, allows over 363 total YPG, the fifth-most in the NFL. The Steelers’ porous defense is the perfect matchup for a Lions team looking to bounce back from a tough road loss.
Steelers vs. Lions NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Detroit Lions -7 (-105)
- Moneyline Bet: Detroit Lions (-320)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 50 (-110)
Las Vegas Raiders vs. Houston Texans Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| Las Vegas Raiders | +14.5 (-115) | +650 | Over 38 (-115) |
| Houston Texans | -14.5 (-105) | -1100 | Under 38 (-105) |
Las Vegas is the biggest underdog of the weekend, getting 14.5 points on the road against Houston. The Raiders were shut out by Philadelphia last weekend and now must face the league’s best scoring defense.
Houston allows a league-best 16.3 PPG this season, and is the only team holding opposing offenses under 270 total YPG.
The Raiders’ offense has been the least efficient unit in the NFL. They score 14 PPG, the lowest in the NFL. Las Vegas also averages 244.1 total YPG, the fewest in the league, and is the only team without 1,000 team rushing yards this season.
Houston should win this game easily against arguably the worst offense in the NFL. Covering 14.5 points is tough to do in the NFL, but even the struggling Texans’ offense should be able to get the job done against the Raiders on Sunday.
Raiders vs. Texans NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Houston Texans -14.5 (-105)
- Moneyline Bet: Houston Texans (-1100)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 38 (-105)
New England Patriots vs. Baltimore Ravens Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| New England Patriots | +3 (-110) | +145 | Over 48 (-115) |
| Baltimore Ravens | -3 (-110) | -170 | Under 48 (-105) |
New England had an 11th consecutive win and a division title in its grasp at halftime of last week’s game against the Bills. Unfortunately for the Patriots, they squandered a 24-7 halftime lead, allowing the Bills to come back and win 35-31.
The Pats must put last week’s collapse behind them with a tough matchup in Baltimore this week on SNF. Lamar Jackson and the Ravens are 3-point home favorites this weekend in prime time.
Baltimore dominated the Bengals, earning a 4-0 shutout victory over their division rival. The final score was impressive, but Jackson’s performance was not. The two-time MVP threw a pair of TDs, but he only completed eight of his 12 pass attempts.
Jackson will have to be better this weekend for the Ravens to win and keep their divisional hopes alive. The Patriots are also desperate for a bounce-back win to clinch a playoff spot and move closer to winning the AFC East.
New England’s offense and defense have been better than Baltimore’s this season. The Pats are also the only team still undefeated on the road this year, a streak I expect them to keep this week.
Patriots vs. Ravens NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: New England Patriots +3 (-110)
- Moneyline Bet: New England Patriots (+145)
- Over/Under Bet: Over 48 (-115)
San Francisco 49ers vs. Indianapolis Colts Preview: Odds, Betting Lines, Best Bets
| Team | Spread | Moneyline | Total |
|---|---|---|---|
| San Francisco 49ers | -6 (-115) | -275 | Over 46.5 (-115) |
| Indianapolis Colts | +6 (-105) | +225 | Under 46.5 (-105) |
Philip Rivers fell short in his return game, losing on a game-winning field goal against the Seahawks. On the bright side, the Colts kept the Seahawks’ high-scoring offense out of the endzone, holding Seattle to 18 points.
Indianapolis’s defense will face a tough test again this week against the 49ers. San Francisco are 6-point road favorite on Monday Night Football this week.
This game features two of the league’s best running backs, Jonathan Taylor and Christian McCaffrey. Taylor leads the NFL in rushing with 1,443 yards, but CMC has been a bigger receiving threat, leading all running backs with 820 receiving yards.
The Colts allow 95.1 rushing YPG, the sixth-fewest. If they can find a way to bottle up CMC in the passing game, too, then they will keep this game within 6 points. However, Rivers will have to wait at least another week to get his first win since returning from his five-year retirement.
49ers vs. Colts NFL Week 16 Best Bets:
- Points Spread: Indianapolis Colts +6 (-105)
- Moneyline Bet: Indianapolis Colts +6 (-105)
- Over/Under Bet: Under 46.5 (-105)
