The Basketball Tournament 2025: TBT Winner Betting Odds and Predictions

Through their first four games of the tournament, Eberlain Drive’s well-balanced strategy and tight defense on the perimeter have led to plenty of success. Coming off an 88-75 win over Sideline Cancer, they’ve done a little of everything to reach the TBT Final Four.

The offense has been solid enough, as they’re 12th out of 64 teams with an average of 81.5 points per game. Compared to their opponents left in the tournament, Eberlain Drive is 0.3 points behind We Are D3 for the most points scored.

However, Eberlain has the highest field goal percentage at 44.5% and 35.8% from three-point territory. Led by Gabe York’s 19.5 points per game and 35% from downtown, Eberlain Drive has the most efficient offense left in The Basketball Tournament.

That isn’t even what makes Eberlain Drive so dangerous, though. They are second in the entire tournament and by far the best team remaining when it comes to perimeter defense. With a 21.3% three-point percentage against, Eberlain Drive plays lockdown defense beyond the arc.

Overall, Eberlain Drive is 12th, with 69 points allowed per game. However, there is another team’s defense that has excelled even more than Eberlain Drive.

The AfterShocks’ defense is a lockdown unit that doesn’t offer much room for opponents to get comfortable. They’ve ridden their physical defense to the third-best mark in the event, with 62.5 points allowed per game.

While Eberlain Drive can play defense, the AfterShocks have top honors of the four teams remaining in the tournament. In four matchups, the AfterShocks haven’t allowed more than 68 points in any of their wins! They are coming off a 74-68 victory over Team Heartfire to qualify for the semifinals.

The AfterShocks’ guards are active and relentless in their pursuit of ball handlers. There is never an easy point on the floor against the team’s defense. They press and force turnovers at an impressive clip, which I believe is going to bode well at this stage of the tournament.

Offensively, the AfterShocks don’t have the firepower of Eberlain Drive. They have netted 74.3 points per game on 43.6% shooting from the field. So, while the AfterShocks favor defense, they are competent on the other end, too.

Nike Sibande has been having a strong tournament for the AfterShocks on the offensive and defensive side. Sibande is shooting 63.3% and 64.3% from three to lead the the team with 14.5 points per game. With their defense, the AfterShocks don’t need much scoring to win games.

The way I see it, the AfterShocks are going to be tough to beat, so I can’t argue against them for your The Basketball Tournament picks!

Best Virginia will look to spring more upsets after an impressive 74-61 win over the Shell Shock. They were nearly knocked off in the opening round against the Dubois Dream, but managed to eke out a 72-69 win. Since then, the West Virginia alumni squad has been playing great team basketball.

Overall, Best Virginia is ranked 22nd in The Basketball Tournament, averaging 76.8 points per game. They’ve also been solid defensively, with 68.3 points against through four matchups in the tournament. This is a well-rounded team that can win with their scoring or defensive pressure.

They are hosting Eberlain Drive at West Virginia in the semifinal match. It’s going to be tough, but I think Best Virginia have a chance in that one. Eberlain Drive is the favorite to win the $1 million, though Best Virginia will give them all that they can handle.

Over their last three games, Best Virginia averaged 78.3 points while allowing 68 points per game, so they’ve won by an average of nearly 10 points. James Reese V has been fantastic for Best Virginia, as he’s notched 22.3 points per game on 44.3% shooting. Reese V ranks third in the tournament in scoring!

I wouldn’t overlook Best Virginia, as the underdog label will suit them in the upcoming clash.

The largest underdog in The Basketball Tournament is We Are D3. Made up of former DIII players, the group has been a pesky team to play against. They are on the heels of a nail-biter in a 95-93 win over Fail Harder.

We Are D3 has done everything the hard way in this event. They’ve faced a lot of adversity and have weathered the storm every time. Three of their four wins have been by four points or fewer.

Laynes Hope pushed We Are D3 to the limit in a 75-71 final, and then they nearly suffered a loss to Boeheim’s Army in an 81-78 score. We Are D3 is all about offense. They play little defense and give up a lot of easy buckets in transition.

Overall, they’ve conceded 77.5 points per game, for 38th and the worst number of teams in the semifinals. While We Are D3 is capable of scoring, with 81.8 points per contest, they don’t have the hard-nosed defense required to beat a team like the AfterShocks.

Ty Nichols has been a standout star in this tournament. He’s second overall and the most prolific scorer of remaining players. The former Keene State guard has notched 23.3 points per game on 47% shooting!

However, he and We Are D3 face a mountain of pressure against the AfterShocks’ defense in the semifinals.
