Expert WNBA Picks For June 3 (With Reasoning)

After analyzing the latest WNBA odds for today’s slate, we have locked in the following best bets for June 3:

Washington Mystics (+155) vs. Indiana Fever

The Indiana Fever (2-4) have dropped two games since losing Caitlin Clark to injury last week. Things might have gotten even worse for the Fever as Sydney Colson and Sophie Cunningham left Friday’s 85-83 loss to Connecticut with health problems.

Colson hurt her left leg, while Cunningham injured a right ankle that caused her to miss the first two games of the season for the Fever.

That’s why I see Washington (3-4) at +155 as a solid WNBA betting pick on Tuesday night, even on the road!

The Mystics are 1-3 on the road, but of those three losses, one was against Las Vegas, one of the leading contenders in the WNBA title odds. They also lost to a good Phoenix team on the road. Those three losses also came by a combined 11 points. Get a couple of breaks the other way, and the Mystics could be 3-1 away from CareFirst Arena!

The Fever are losing bodies, and although Aliyah Boston is having a great season with 16.8 points and 9.2 rebounds, Washington rookie Kiki Iriafen has been terrific with 13.9 points and 10.1 boards. Brittany Sykes (21.7 points) and Sonia Citron (14.3 points) can also go toe-to-toe with Indiana’s Kelsey Mitchell (16.3 points) and Natasha Howard (12.2 points).

I like the Mystics on the road as a plus-money underdog in Indiana on Tuesday night!

Seattle Storm (-8.5) vs. Dallas Wings

The Storm (3-4) host the Wings (1-6) on Tuesday night at Climate Pledge Arena, and Dallas might be without their #1 overall draft pick. Paige Bueckers missed Saturday’s 94-83 loss to Chicago as she was placed in the concussion protocol. The former UConn star will miss Tuesday’s game, as well.

However, the Wings are terrible defensively. Only Connecticut and Chicago allow more points per game than Dallas, who give up 89.1 points a night. The Storm are fourth in the league in that stat, allowing 79.3 points. It should be noted that Dallas is fourth in points scored, while Seattle is fourth-worst.

But at home, without Bueckers, I’ll take Seattle to cover 8.5 points at -110. Dallas’ Arike Ogunbowale averages 17.3 points, and will get her buckets.

However, Seattle can limit the rest of the team, especially if Bueckers sits out. Veterans Skylar Diggins (17.9 points, 6.6 assists) and Nneka Ogqumike (16.9 points, 9.0 rebounds) are off to a fantastic start. I also love Gabby Williams’ (14.0 points, 3.7 rebounds, 3.6 assists) all-around game.

Let’s take the Storm to cover the WNBA betting spread on Tuesday in Seattle!

Our Free WNBA Best Bets Strategy

Before making our WNBA bets, we analyze several variables and data points to draw a conclusion. We suggest using our betting tips to make your own WNBA predictions this season!

While no one can promise a 100% success rate, sticking to this process can help grind out a profit in the WNBA. Here’s our process of finding the best betting value for WNBA picks and parlays.

1. Be Patient And Pick Your Spots

Most of the WNBA season is played after the NBA Championship. The only major sport underway during the summer is baseball, so there is a tendency to look to WNBA for betting action.

With hundreds of WNBA bets available on a daily basis, some bettors get into the habit of playing too many plays. For our WNBA picks, we are patient and wait for the best spots. This can translate to only two or three bets per day, sometimes fewer!

The WNBA schedule will take us to mid-September, which is when the NFL is getting into full swing. Don’t treat the WNBA as a sport to keep yourself busy by blindly betting before then. Patience is key.

2. Compare Offensive Efficiency And Pace

Head coaches have different offensive philosophies for how they operate their offense. Some run-and-gun, while others prefer to slow it down and work from the inside out.

There will be teams who struggle against teams that push the pace. If two teams match up that like to run, it’s likely that the game will be high scoring. Conversely, the opposite will be true for half court offenses.

Additionally, this can be telling for determining the winner of the game and covering point spreads. Does your team of choice struggle against the fast break, or teams with size?

It’s vital to understand the dynamics of the opponent before confirming your wager!

3. Check The NET Ratings

The WNBA has a slew of advanced stats for bettors to dive into before deciding on the best bets. For a quick snapshot that compiles multiple metrics into one number, consider examining the Net Rating.

The Net Rating takes into consideration, a team’s offensive and defensive efficiency. The offensive efficiency is subtracted from the defensive to calculate the Net Rating. This provides the point differential per 100 possessions.

Early in the season, using the Net Rating without an ample sample size can be ineffective. However, as the season progresses, it’s a helpful tool for you at WNBA betting sites.

4. Look At Player Matchups

Critically important for wagering on the WNBA, prop bets in particular, is evaluating matchups on the floor. Let’s assume you are interested in betting on Caitlin Clark props.

Wouldn’t you like to know who her primary defender will be? If she has an easier matchup, there will be a higher probability of her having a stronger performance!  The same applies to teams that are poor at defending the three-pointer.

Clark’s stats show that she likes to spray shots from deep, so she should be more successful against teams that don’t have solid perimeter defenders. The same applies to players in the front court against teams that struggle on the interior.

5. Line Shopping

Line shopping for the best WNBA price for your bet is an important step for your strategy. It can be the difference between booking a profit and losing in any particular season!

For our daily WNBA best bets, we are using Bovada, BetUS, Everygame, BetWhale, and more to line shop. We highly recommend having a minimum of three top betting sites to compare the odds before locking in your wagers.
