Samsung Lions vs. SSG Landers: Samsung (-180)
The Samsung Lions look to respond against the SSG Landers after falling in a 6-4 final on Tuesday. The Landers got off to a quick start to take a 3-0 lead in the 1st inning. However, I expect today’s showdown to go differently, with Choin Won-tae taking the starting assignment for the Lions.
Although Choin hasn’t been in top form, he’s been successful in shutting down the Landers’ bats in the past. Note that Choin owns a 2.38 ERA against the Landers this season. Choin’s main problem is against high-powered offenses, but that isn’t the case with SSG.
The Landers are second-last in the KBO, with a team batting average of .237. Additionally, they rank towards the back of the league in home runs, and third-worst with 231 RBIs. Overall, Choin has a 4.97 ERA, but he should improve on that number versus the Landers.
Conversely, Kim Keon-woo has gotten KOd versus the Lions, for a 16.88 ERA and 0-1 record this season. Kim enters with an overall ERA of 5.13 and a 1.63 WHIP.
The Lions are second in the KBO, posting a .269 batting average and 297 RBIs. It should be a close matchup, but the Lions should prevail after dropping yesterday’s contest.

The Lotte Giants hammered the lowly Kiwoom Heroes in an 8-0 victory in yesterday’s matchup. They got started early against the Heroes with four runs in the bottom of the 1st. It’s been that kind of year for the Heroes, as they continue to sink further down to the bottom.
They can’t get much lower than they are right now. Whether you want to compare them to the Chicago White Sox or the Colorado Rockies, either is a fair assessment. After the loss last night, the Heroes have regressed to 16-45-1 on the season!
No pitching or clutch is hitting on this roster, so don’t expect anything to change soon. Overall, the Heroes are last in the KBO, with a .231 batting average and 202 RBIs. The next closest team to the Heroes has notched 223 RBIs, so it isn’t particularly close to who the worst offense is in Korean baseball.
Now, they send Kim Yun-ha to the mound, who is likely to take a beating again on Wednesday. Kim enters the matchup with a 6.58 ERA across 11 starts. With almost no run support, Kim owns a putrid record of 0-9! Look for the Giants’ Park Se-woong to be the more successful pitcher here.
