There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we selected our KBO baseball picks each day.

Kiwoom Hereos vs. Samsung Lions: Samsung -1.5 (-168)

With the All-Star break in the books, the Kiwoom Heroes and Samsung Lions square off in what should be a lopsided battle at Daegu Samsung Lions Park. The Heroes were awful in the first half and are well outside of the playoff race.

They’ve been a non-contender from pretty much the opening week of the season! At 27-61-3, the Heroes are 26.5 games behind the Hanwha Eagles for the lead in the KBO. The Heroes have a win percentage hovering around 30%.

It’s unlikely to get much better on Friday with Wells Lachlan on the bump for the Heroes. Lachlan enters with a 3.21 ERA and 1.07 WHIP through three starts in his rookie campaign in the KBO. Those are great numbers, but Lachlan has only pitched in three games. He had a decent showing, with a 3.60 ERA and 1.20 WHIP two starts back versus the Lions.

I’m more concerned with the Heroes’ inept offense versus Lions’ starter Ariel Jurado. Jurado had a sharp first half, posting an ERA of 2.76 and a 1.13 WHIP across 117.3 frames. The Heroes are dead last in the KBO, with a .237 batting average and 311 RBIs!

In short, I recommend the Lions on the runline for your best KBO bets today.

Samsung Lions -1.5

Hanwha Eagles vs. Samsung Lions: Under 8 (-125)

The NC Dinos and KIA Tigers get things started in the second half with the series opener at Gwangju-Kia Champions Field. We should have a strong pitching matchup between Riley Thompson and James Naile on the mound.

Thompson enters with a razor-sharp 2.98 ERA and 1.06 WHIP in 108.2 innings of work. In his rookie season, Thompson has felt right at home in South Korea. Additionally, the former Cub owns a 1.46 ERA and 2-0 versus the KIA Tigers this year!

Look for Thompson to mow down the Tigers, while Naile should be in top form as well. Naile is another foreign pitcher making noise in the KBO. After a standout rookie season with a 2.53 ERA and 1.27 WHIP, Naile is at it again this year. Naile posted an ERA of 2.39 and a 1.02 WHIP through 109.1 innings in 2025.

The way I see it, we have a pitching duel between Thompson and Naile, so consider playing the under for your KBO best bets today!
