As of August 19, 2025, the Heroes sit anchored at the bottom of the KBO with a 36‑75‑4 record, trailing the leaders. LG Tigers, by 32 games. Their lineup and rotation both underperform, with a batting average that stumbles at .240, according to recent season data in the KBO.

On the other side, the veteran Yang Hyeon‑jong takes the mound for KIA. His 4.40 ERA and 1.41 WHIP are serviceable and, more importantly, he’s been sharp of late, allowing just one or no earned runs in three of his past four outings. That kind of veteran poise matters in late‑season KBO games.

Lotte Giants vs. KIA Tigers: LG Twins (+106)
Son Ju‑young has been a nightmare for the Lotte Giants in their head‑to‑head matchups. He owns a microscopic 0.47 ERA and a 2‑0 record against them over two starts. He’s also on a tear overall, with five straight outings allowing two or fewer earned runs, including one or none in four of those five games.
Meanwhile, Na Gyun‑an has struggled considerably against the Twins specifically. Across just five innings versus LG, he carries a lofty 5.40 ERA and a 2.00 WHIP. His overall season numbers are underwhelming as well, with a 4.06 ERA and a 2‑7 record.
