Best KBO Predictions Today (With Reasoning), August 28

There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we selected our KBO baseball picks each day.

KIA Tigers vs. SSG Landers: SSG (+111)

The Tigers may be favored at –148, but I’m backing the SSG Landers at +111 for a confident moneyline play.

Lee Eui‑lee may be on the mound for KIA, but his form is alarming. In six starts spanning 23.1 innings, he’s posted a 9.64 ERA and 1.84 WHIP. Even more concerning, he has surrendered 16 earned runs across his last three outings alone. Command appears to be escaping him completely, and he’s ripe for exploitation.

On the flip side, you’ve got Choi Min‑jun firing with a 3.29 ERA and 1.32 WHIP over 34 matchups. He’s also locked in, delivering fewer than two earned runs in each of his past five starts. That recent consistency at the dish against struggling pitching gives SSG a clear edge.

This is a prime scenario to take advantage of a moneyline underdog. The Landers are simply too sharp to ignore at +111.

Samsung Lions vs. Doosan Bears: Doosan (+115)

For value on Thursday’s slate, the Doosan Bears at +115 stands out as a live underdog worth targeting.

Rookie right-hander Choi Min-seok continues to impress in his debut season, entering with a 3.39 ERA and 1.20 WHIP over 13 appearances. The 19-year-old has kept his composure on the mound, holding opponents to three or fewer earned runs in 11 of those outings. He’s also shown he can handle this Samsung lineup, carrying a 2.77 ERA in two previous starts against the Lions.

Meanwhile, Samsung rolls out Choi Won-tae, who’s been shaky more often than not. He brings a 4.59 ERA and 1.42 WHIP into his 22nd start, and his numbers dip even further against the Bears. In just six innings of work against Doosan, he’s allowed a 4.50 ERA with a bloated 1.67 WHIP.

With home field and a more consistent arm on the mound, Doosan has all the tools to cash in as a plus-money play.
