There are important things to know before betting on the KBO. Luckily, if you don’t have time to do your own research, you can discover how we selected our KBO baseball picks each day.

Kiwoom Heroes vs. Samsung Lions: Samsung -1.5 (-175)

The Samsung Lions are in a good spot to cover the runline on Friday against the Kiwoom Heroes. Choi Won-tae may not own elite season numbers with a 4.94 ERA and 1.47 WHIP, but he has managed to limit the damage in recent outings, holding opponents to two or fewer earned runs in three of his last seven starts.

More importantly, he has been particularly sharp against Kiwoom, posting a 1.80 ERA across five innings in their most recent meeting. The Heroes’ offense has been a liability all year, ranking dead last in the KBO with a .241 team average and only 469 RBIs.

That lack of production puts added pressure on rookie starter Jung Hyun-woo, who has struggled with consistency. He comes in with a 5.28 ERA and 1.61 WHIP and was shelled by Samsung two starts ago, giving up a 9.00 ERA and 1.75 WHIP in that outing.

With the pitching edge and a clear advantage at the plate, Samsung looks well-positioned to win comfortably.

Lotte Giants vs. SSG Landers: SSG -1.5 (+105)

The SSG Landers offer strong runline value today with Mitch White on the mound against the struggling Lotte Giants. White has been one of the more consistent arms in the KBO this season, owning a 2.80 ERA and 1.12 WHIP over 112.1 innings.

He’s kept opposing lineups quiet in six of his last eight starts, allowing two or fewer earned runs in those outings. His one appearance against Lotte also went well, with a tidy 2.77 ERA.

On the other side, Lotte hands the ball to Vincent Velasquez, who’s still trying to find his footing overseas. His 8.05 ERA and 1.89 WHIP through four appearances tell the story. He’s been tagged for at least four earned runs in three of those games and hasn’t shown the command or confidence needed to compete at a high level in the KBO just yet.

Given the mismatch on the mound and White’s form, the Landers are worth backing to win on the runline at a generous price!
